It does clean your teeth very well. I cannot attest to it being able to cure periodontitis. My gums haven't become any better by using it, but I've only used it a month. Another odd thing about the toothpaste is it contains little chunks of something that occasionally gets left behind in your mouth. Not sure what that is, maybe little hard pieces of calcium. I’ve tried so many different dental products for that. Unfortunately, none of those products made my gums feel better. My friend recommended this toothpaste to me. I only used it three days. I could feel some differences. One of my inflamed gum area definitely has less pain now. It does not help with sensitive teeth if you have sensitive teeth then you should start off with something for sensitivity before moving on to this product. if you're desperate and have yellowing of the teeth along with calcuim building on your teeth then just brush like 3 times a days with baking soda. Then floss. This product is good for keeping the calcium build up to a minium or almost nonexistent. This product is expensive but if you're seriously wanting to keep your gums and teeth in good health then buy, but dont expect immediate results. I also have a water floss and will use it in conjunction after brushing with a soft brissel tooth brush. Also something you may want to think about buying. A soft bristle toothbrush will help your gums heal and Thrive with this toothpaste. Along with an oral irrigator afterwards or mouth-washing. Also I no longer have sensitive teeth anymore and I used to brush with a soft bristle toothbrush and Sensodyne toothpaste for the past 3 years and after I switched it to this toothpaste along with flossing more and using my water floss I've seen a difference.
