Q: Will the 10g spf ports resolve an optical transceiver like 10gbase-sr sfp+?

Only some SFP+ optical transceivers will work. My testing so far reveals that any direct attach twinax cable seems to be fine (including a 40g to 10g breakout cable), and some optical transceivers work, but no copper 10gbase-T or 1gbase-T transceivers have worked for me. I think it might be a power limitation - the switch is provided with only a 12V, 1A, 12W power supply "wall wart", so it may not have enough power budget to allow 2.5W or 3W transceivers. The only optical transceiver that worked for me was an Intel ABFR-703SDZ-IN2. Three others that did NOT work were Intel FTLX8574D3BCV-IT, Oracle Avago AFBR-709DMZ-SN1 (two copies).

Q: What sfp+ modules are compatible? i bought some 1.25g 10gtek ones and they lit up but nothing would connect. only need 1g for now.

It is pretty standard, however, I ended up returning this one and getting the QSW-2104-2T-US instead. Unlike this model, all the ports are standard RJ45 ports (Including the two 10GbE ones)

Q: Can I run two 10gbe connections off of this?

Josh is correct, you can use the 2x 10gb ports to connect your desktop PC and a NAS but then use one of the other 2.5gbe ports as the uplink, the switch doesn't care which port is the uplink so you can use any port you'd like. I have this switch but the one with 2 SFP+ ports, I have one of the 10gb ports feeding my desktop and the other is the uplink from a Cisco switch that's also 10gb. I'd like to find the other one with just Ethernet but availablity has been hit or miss, nothing wrong with using the transceivers but would be nice to not have to use them. I also have a Netgear WAX206 and another PC connected to one of the 2.5gbe ports. You can use 10gb between both ports but anything out the 2.5gbe will be limited to that speed. If I can't find the Ethernet version soon I'll be forced to have to get the same one again.

Q: Are 2.5G ports compatible with 1G connections?

Yes, the 2.5G ports are compatible with the 1G/100M standard. Of course you will only get up to 1G transfer rates.
