Great glue. I know its only glue and I ...
Great glue. I know its only glue and I shouldn't get too excited. Not too fast setting, even in the summer heat. If you happen to make a mistake and catch it quick, you have a few seconds to correct for errors. On the same note, I don't think I would recommend putting this into immediate service or under test. I've always given it a couple hours cure time anyway. I'm sure they recommend more. Now, I've only used it with the matching P-70 primers, both in purple and clear but from what I can tell this makes really good, strong joints when directions are followed, on both PVC and CPVC and mixes of the two. No leaks in the 3 dozen or so 1-1/2" and 2" joints I've made so far, some in really awkward locations with sandy soil trying to contaminate. Also, it's thick enough to fill gaps if you get a loose fitting and still holds pressure. Just keep it clean, follow the directions, hold joints from pushing back out for a few seconds, especially if it's hot out, and keep the cans closed tight so all the good stuff doesn't evaporate off too quickly

Used for CVPC (black) -to-PVC joints in pool plumbing
This cement is recommended for certain pool plumbing such as Jandy valves which are actually CPVC (glossy black), when they're joined to regular PVC piping. You MAY get away with regular PVC cement like Oatey, but I see lots of cans of this stuff sitting in the pool co's trucks. I found this cement a bit runny, and then it tends to 'ball up' when one wipes off excess after putting a joint together making for a messier-looking finished joint. I sawed one PVC-PVC joint apart to check it, and the joint is very mechanically sound inside. This cement can be used on regular PVC alone, so you needn't waste a can on one or two CPVC joints. The cement is an opaque gray color, and works with regular PVC purple primer.

Great cement
Great cement with good flow and working time (1/2 hour). This is good for connecting together PVC and CPVC pool piping. I used P-68 primer with this and acetone to clean before primer. You may want to use a purchased cleaner for this, but I didn't think I needed to. You need to wait 24 hours, however until it is fully cured and can take pressure. I was using this on 2 in and 2 1/2 in pipe.

Broken Applicator
After waiting patiently for my CPVC Solvent Cement which was recommended by Jandy Valves...Upon opening the cap and pulling the applicator, the applicator broke and came apart from the cap making it almost impossible to use since the broken part sunk into the cement. How can a Industrial Grade product have such an inferior applicator. I hope Wed-On reads this and sends me out a new applicator.

Worked well on CPVC to PVC connection but NOT on PVC to PVC connection. Had to put in repair couplings to stop leaks and prevent the need to buy another $50 pool diverter valve.
