The instructions to raise and lower the top shelf are very poor. Took me forever to figure it out and I made the mistake of raising the top tray half way up and then not adjusting it for several months, in which time I forgot the trick involved. When the instructions say to lower the shelf you need to use the lever with your right hand and apply force to get the tray to go down. To say you need to apply force is an understatement. I finally remembered that I needed to put my hand on the lever, then I had to use use the full force and weight of my upper body. Finally worked, but it shouldn't be that hard to push down. Also the wheels are very small and don't work well. Almost impossible to push on carpet.

Would be a great product if the lever to lower and raise the desk actually worked. It worked once, to raise it. Now I cannot get it to lower at all. Does not even budge and I have no clue if/how to fix. : ( total waste.

Difficult to bring tray down, requires quite a bit of effort. Main issue is that it doesn't fit under sofa. Tried under sofa 1, didn't even fit. Tried under second sofa and it fits but scratches the bottom of the sofa. I bought it for a person who is immobilized and this is not working at all. The company does not make it easy to return the item, so beware!
