Great buy.
Bought this for my husband. Did not know that I was going to have to shave him when he was in the hospital. It works really well and the quality if there. He loves it and I really liked using it when I had to.

Money well spent
Bought another brand and was very disappointed in it. Bought the Braun and it is exceptional. Smooth, gets all the difficult places with ease. Battery life lasts long time, I feel it’s a great value for the money!

Why not add a pop up trimmer?
This is a really fine shaver which gives me a close, quick shave. I just wish it had a pop up trimmer, like their basic ones used to have. They are getting more expensive and more inconvenient! So now you have to pop off the shaving head and attach the trimmer. What time they save you with the quick shave is lost by the time you fool with the trimmer!

Perfect
This was a great replacement for my old razor. I grow a decent amount of facial hair for a young adult and I am able to trim it very well. It includes a very useful stubbbler which makes me look 3 years younger. GREAT investment!!!

Yikes! What happened?
I love Braun, been buying them for years over my lifetime. About 7 years ago (2016), I bought the Series 5 and though I thought the quality was somewhat diminished over its predecessor, I bought a second one for travel which I did a lot of at the time. Every year or two, I bought the replacement foil and blade for each, even though it was expensive. Then I started jonesing for a new one about a year ago with a longer battery life and better charge indicator, so I bought the Series 6 (2023). Well, the new one just doesn’t shave as well as their older model…end stop. It doesn’t handle three-day growth as well, edging along my beard as well, nor shaving the chaos over my neck. To be fair, my expectation is based on comparison, but they are not comparable because their design is completely different. The older S5 was built with the foil and blade as two separate pieces whereas this new S6 is designed with an integrated foil and blade as one single replaceable part. Whether this makes things cheaper or just easier for the customer to clean and replace it, I cannot say, but the effect in providing me a good shave is night and day. And something else, the distance from the head to the start of the foil between the two generations is huge, making edging along my beard line with the new shaver ineffective for me. I’m glad a bought two S5 shavers back in the day as they are still my go-to shavers. This one goes in the gym bag. UPDATE: 2024-12-15 It lasted about a year. This S6 model is one of Braun’s cheaper models and in believing the good reviews, I took a chance and bought-down… so my bad. But even so, the charge capacity diminished very rapidly over a short time. The attachable trimmer turned out to be a big compromise in efficiency for me (tedious and hard to find when needed). And the 3-step battery charge indicator was really bad. It went from 3 to 2 after only one shave after a full charge and then went from 2 to dead maybe 6 shaves later, providing no meaningful warning for use during travel. I used it for the gym for about a year until it wouldn’t hold a charge for more than 3 daily shaves and now it’s over-and-out before wearing out its first foil. I really expected more from Braun, even with this cheaper model. I give it 3 stars only because I bought-down on purpose, and that’s on me.

Electric Razor

Poor cut
Im not sure why I changed brands, because for years I had a Panasonic electric razor. I always had fantastic results and only had to upgrade due to battery issues. I was hoping with the good reviews on this device, I would be just as happy. Two huge issues for me. First off, the main head razor only cuts your facial hair if it is a minor stubble. If it's just a hair longer than a stubble, you have to remove the head and put a new attachment on. (I will say that's one great thing about this device is the multiple attachments). My old Panasonic would rough through pretty long hair with ease. Next issue is ingrown hairs... I've never had an issue with ingrown hairs, not even with standard shaving, and for some reason, using this razor gives me bumps and ingrown hairs on my neck and chin. Unfortunately, I think im going to be out money and go back to Panasonic....
