Covers only small areas
Update: The owners reached out to me about my issues with this product. It's really nice to see company's that stand behind their product and unusual these days. While I still prefer their grout paint, you can't go wrong either way because if you have issues, the company goes above and beyond to help you. Phenomenal customer service. First of all, these grout pens DO work, however, they don't last very long. They are good for maybe 10-12 12"x12" squares at the most before they run out. You'll also probably need to do 2 coats for adequate coverage if you're going from a darker to lighter coverage. I went from a light grey to the cream color. If you're doing an entire floor, get the liquid grout pen paint in the jar that you paint on with a paint brush. It goes a lot further, and is actually a little easier, especially in corners. If you really really want to use the grout pens, get triple the amount you think you'll need. So if you think you'll need 2, get 6. Also, the grout pen cream color is a little lighter than the cream grout liquid paint. More like an off white color. So pick one type and stick with it. In the end, even though the liquid paint is more expensive, it will save you money in the end if you're doing a large area and not just a small touch up space. Scrubbing the grout first with the Krud Kutter is essential and necessary. Don't skip that step. Also sealing the grout and tile after you're done is important if you want it to last. It does stick on pretty well though

Paints pretty well, pen tip keeps falling out
Overall, I would say I do recommend this grout pen. It’s much easier than regrouting or using a tiny paintbrush it repaint (which is how I did our other bathroom SMH!) BUT, it’s annoying that the marker tip keeps falling out while I’m using it. Like every two minutes it falls out, leaves a glob of paint on a tile that I have to wipe up and then I have to wipe my hand from where I’ve put it back into the “pen”- First world problem?! for sure but it is still annoying! It does seem to dry pretty quickly and while I haven’t used the shower yet since painting, I am optimistic that the moisture will not affect it

There are much better options
First, general thoughts: Might be good to use if your current color matches the pen, clean up for paint outside the grout lines is easy, says it will cover up to 130 feet for wider grout lines (didn't test this) but it will take lots more paint for porous grout. Use a grout sealer first if this is the case to avoid losing color thru absorption. Now, the not-so-pros: (see photos) actual color is lighter than cover of the cap, doesn't say what color or how many oz. are in pen anywhere on the pen (really?), paint flows unevenly on sanded grout, can't get within 1/2 inch of trim or in tricky spots so have to pour some out and use an artist paintbrush to fill in these gaps, expensive - $12 -when compared to Mapei UltraCare Grout Refresh ($15-$18) which is in an 8 oz squeeze bottle (covers up to 300 sf)and very easy to use. I run a line of paint and then use a brush to move the paint where I want it. The bottle top can be cut to allow a thin pour or a wide pour for different widths of the grout.

Excellent product and so easy to use.
This is an excellent product! I wanted to replace my old tile floor, now it looks like new. Very easy to use. Has held up well, so far, about 8 mos.

A real pain in the neck
The grout pen seems to have a chamber for the paint, a hard foam applicator tip, and then a valve that connects the two, so that when pressure is applied on the tip, more paint flows into the foam tip. I encountered several problems with this design. The foam tip doesn't necessarily stay in the pen; paint can leak out during use. The foam tip is a very poor conductor of the paint - far worse than a brush - so the layer applied is think and uneven. Because the tip is so wide, I think I ended up with more paint on the shower tiles than covering the grout. And you can't get within 1/4" of a corner. Fortunately, clean up is very easy - just wipe with a damp paper towel. Lastly, unless you are working on the grout in the floor, paint just doesn't flow through the device. While working on the shower walls, I had to depress the pen tip against a paper towel on the floor to get more paint into the tip. Frankly, this would work better as a jar of paint with a small brush. It's been six weeks or so since application. The grout look does cleaner, except where it's already wearing off. Overall, I'd say this is appropriate only for short-term cosmetic "improvements". Wouldn't use again.

Easy to use and long lasting
This stuff really works well. We used it in our bathroom tile several years ago, and it’s still holding up. I just remodeled our laundry room and used this paint on the dark grout and it worked great. Just paint it on the grout and wipe the excess off the tiles. If you leave it on for 20 minutes or more, you can still remove the excess, but you’ll need a scrubbing pad It’s definitely a product I would recommend.

Excellent customer service from this seller
Used this grout pen on my shower floor with decent results, but the color was too creamy/vanilla and the pen tip kept falling out. Amended comment: The seller reached out to me and I am very satisfied with their service. The tip is replaceable because grout can be rough. I’ll give this product another try on a different project.
