Works as described - Updated 2/5/2019
Update 2/5/2019After 10 months this adapter is still working great! Have not considered another option. The static I mentioned in the initial review was just associated with the volume fine tuning between device volume and car volume that needs to be done. You don't want the volume on your phone too low or too high. The volume on my phone is set to about 70%. I came back to this order to provide the link to someone who was interested in an adapter for the 5 series. I would like to add that while you cannot skip songs, the steering wheel volume controls will work with this adapter.Works well in a 2010 BMW 550i after only a few days. You may hear some static during music breaks if your device volume is too high. In my car only steering wheel volume works. You cannot skip songs on the steering wheel and what's playing is not displayed onscreen in Idrive. So far it seems like an inexpensive solution.

this is the shizz
Lemme break it down for you because I wasn't sure this was what I needed or if it would work but it's perfect! I bought a used 2014 Toyota RAV4 with Bluetooth, plays my calls through stereo but could never get podcasts/music to play through stereo. Did not try too hard because both phone and car had aux port, problem solved. Just got a Pixel3 with <gasp> no aux port. Thought, I'm not going to listen to this mess on speaker phone. Researched, learned I needed A2DP receiver?? Searched Amazon, bought this ^^ inexpensive 2 foot long cable. Plugged it into aux port on car, USB end goes into regular charger (it's just the power supply). You don't have to have a USB port built in. That end is not talking to the stereo at all. Paired it to the phone in 2 seconds flat (has an obvious name, Blue something), and VOILA! podcasts etc coming out of the stereo. Apparently works for phone calls too on older vehicles. i turn it off to use my over-head mic for calls so I can't speak to that. BUt perfect sound quality for my audio output from phone. Get one!! Hope this helps.

Audio Issues (recommeded device listed in review)
I received mine hooked it all up and tried some songs and everyone had a distorted sound to it. This was the 1/2 of the devices I bought with a audio issue. For a 100% confident buy go with Bluedio BL Bluetooth Receiver ( https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01M25NCN2/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 ) . I was trying to replace this one and decided to just search for the first few things I found but ultimately went with the one I bought back in 2017. My last one just went bad due to bending the wire to much in my BMW 335i's center console. I bought a 90 degree adapter to prevent this problem with the new one. Hope this helps!

Worked As Described
**Update**Got a new iPhone, when using with Spotify I must have music playing before powering up the device or it pairs but does not show up as a play back device option. Need to force repair by unplugging, switching off/on Bluetooth, or forget/repair.Received on the day of this review. Works as discriped. Synced immediately, resyncs when car is powered on with in 30 sec; note my usb plug shuts off when car is off. With phone volume turned up all the way the car stereo is at normal aux volume. No hissing, cracking, popping or volumn issues as reported with other versions. I have not tried the voice feature, but I do not expect to use that feature much.Only complaint is that cord is very very thin, hopefully without a phone pulling on it, it can last in the car. Also I wish it came with a right angle plug and some adhesive clips to keep it tucked tight with the dash, but cant have everything.

No Bluetooth? Here is the solution
I just received a new iPhone X as my birthday gift last month, loving it. The only problem is that there is no headphone jack on iPhone X, and my car DOES NOT have Bluetooth but only audio jack. This small device just saved my day to bridge between iPhone X and my car!Pros.- Excellent audio quality, supports AAC. This is just what I need.- Build in microphone for handsfree call works well, my friends hear me loud and clear.- Reconnects when the car starts, works just like the built-in Bluetooth.- Very small, easy to hide.- No charging required.Cons.- Doesn’t always reconnect in the first time for my iPhone X. But works well with my old iPhone and my brother’s Android. Guess this may be the iOS issue?

Works well, but a ground loop isolator helps a lot with sound quality.
This works okay, but fails to strip out the line noise that comes from most auto USB ports, so the end result is electronic engine whine in your speakers. Very annoying. I originally ended up not using it and going back to a battery operated bluetooth adapter. However, after talking with the seller, I found that a ground loop isolator completely removed the line noise, and now it works as it should.Needing a separate device to get the sound quality to an acceptable level is a strike against this, but the end result is very good, and I can say I'll be sticking with this solution.

HIGH quality Bluetooth handsfree adapter in a small package.
Works perfectly and comes in an amazingly small package. Installed this into a 2006 Toyota 4Runner to add Bluetooth to the factory radio using the AUX connection. Clarity of the sound is amazing. The instructions on how to use were very simple and written in plain English, no techno talk. This little guy autoconnects quickly.I had to add a ground loop isolator to get rid of the noise caused by my car but once installed this beauty can shine. I chose the Kript HIFI ground loop isolator and it works perfectly with the BlueStream adapter. No muss, no fuss, plug it in and enjoy.

Sound quality is great. Device constantly powers off.
The media could not be loaded. This RX delivers on the sound thanks to the AAC codec support, my current RX only transmits using SBC. The downside is the device constantly powers off if any movement occurs to the car/adapter. I don’t have any issues with other devices plugged into the port. I want to be able to use my Power Delivery port and have the RX plugged into the port below it. There is some engine noise but every RX will have this until you ground the loop out. I’ll have to implement this in my house now where it will be stationary.

Good value for money
I have an old school car stereo that was not compatible with my new phone, the easiest fix is to get one of these and attach to line in. If you experience a hum, then lowering your cars stereo volume and increasing your phone's BT volume will clear it. Over all I'm really happy

Plug and play!
A fantastic addition to any car without A2DP Bluetooth. My Fiat Punto has Blue and Me which only handles phone calls so this receiver allows me to play Spotify, hear Google maps etc. Whilst still letting me us me the car B&M for hands free phone calls. The built in microphone is good enough for calls - I just prefer to use the car's built in hands free. Doesn't take up much space either and it's unnoticeable after a while.

the sound quality is better than I had expected and it's made my sound ...
It works well with the amp I have, the sound quality is better than I had expected and it's made my sound system capable of playing music wirelessly controlled by my phone, which was the reason I had purchased the product. I will recommend this product to anyone who's looking to do the same

Good product for the price. Definitely recommend
Great sound quality, works as expected, small discreet unit. Some issues when reconnecting and mic quality is poor but music streaming is excellent.Feedback is an issue when not playing anything due to ground loop but no issue during playback
