While these are nice-looking runners, they have three major issues:1) There is a strong, nauseating chemical smell; I suspect a pest control treatment for shipping.2) The runners are extraordinarily stiff and nearly impossible to flatten. Be prepared for the wrestling match.3) The runner backing has zero slip control; I recommend extreme caution if you place the runner on a smooth surface, or someone could have a severe fall.It may be possible to mitigate the first two issues by washing the runner with mild, soapy water and laying it flat to dry, but that also negates the ability to return the item.Speaking of returns, if you do try to return the item, be prepared to jump through some hoops. In the end, it may not be worth the effort.

For the price I was expecting better quality! The rug is thin, cheap looking, slippery. I would not recommend this rug!
