Great book
I'm a macaron novice, having made only two batches before I bought this book. I made the cappuccino ones first, with a mocha filling as suggested in the recipe, and they were perfect. I have a fan oven so reduced the temp to 150 degrees. The shells were shiny and crisp, and the middle chewy - just what you want in a macaron! I did find they didn't 'set' before baking but I went ahead and baked them anyway and they turned out just right. The recipes are simple and easy to follow, with hints and tips for the perfect macaron. The only thing I would say is some of the flavours seem a bit of a faff, like the passion fruit one, and mango, but that's just me, I don't like to muck about with fruit I would just want the flavour ready to add to the cake! I haven't tried any other macaron book but I see no reason to, his one's just fine.

Superb little book
The book is well laid out, with lots of idea's on several different flavourings there are a few specialty ones in the back... I am still trying to find the recipe for Japonaise meringues. we used to buy these from Fullers coffee house in Plymouth, in the 1960's they were a cross between macaroons and macarons flavoured with coffee and had chopped nuts on the outside . They were called Jap cakes .. If anyone knows where I can get the recipe I would be eternally grateful !

Boring
Not what I expected at all. I had been expecting more than two recipes with flavouring additions for basic macaroons. I had hoped to have had included macaroon variations such as good old fashioned japs which were a childhood favourite and treat!

Beautiful and inspiring little book!
I bought this book because the pictures were so enticing. I love to bake and I thought I'd try my hand at macaron making. This book is just lovely! It inspires me every time I look at it. I bought one for my friend's birthday as well and she loves it! Now we exchange stories about how our respective batches of macarons turned out. So far, I can't say I've perfected the art, but I am working on it. I felt like the only problem with the recipes is that everything tasted a little too sweet to me. I tried cutting down the sugar in the basic macaron, but it seemed to affect more than just the taste, so I won't do that again. Cutting down the sugar in the fillings was not a problem, however. I would highly recommend this book!

Great recipes
I've made two of the recipes so far, and they have both tasted awesome. Macarons are a little tricky, but this book makes it relatively easy to follow.
