This 380 ACP adapter plate allows reloaders to easily separate 380 ACP and small brass from 9mm Luger. To use this plate, sort all of your brass as normally through the Shell Sorter 3pc set. The contents of the black pan will contain 9mm and 380 brass. Set the 380 plate inside either the blue or yellow Shell Sorter pan. Sort the contents of the black pan through the plate, 380 will fall through both the plate as well as the blue or yellow pan, 9mm remains on top. Do not use the black pan with the 380 plate as the 380 brass will get trapped between the plate and the black pan, where you will frequently need to remove the plate to get the brass out.

Can't live without this plate. A few minor shortcomings though. See full review.
I have the Shell Sorter system, and still hated picking through my .380 and 9mm brass. It's a horrible job. So, I decided to invest in this plate, hoping for it to solve all my problems with brass separation. Here's my thoughts:Pros:- It works! I was able to dump in all of my mixed .380 and 9mm brass and have it sort through it. It didn't work flawlessly, thus my knocking off of a single star (will describe in Cons)- Simple to use. Just place this plate in the yellow bin of the Shell Sorter System, dump in mixed brass, and shake.- Some reviewers have noted sharp edges, but mine weren't bad, and they have to be that precise of cuts to differentiate between the nearly identical cases of .380 and 9mm.Cons:- The .380 brass sometimes gets stuck in the holes and won't fall all of the way through. You have to help it by pushing it through. The 9mm will NOT get into the holes, so anything that gets stuck will be .380 and can be pushed through.- Price. I feel this was a bit expensive for what it is....a (likely) laser cut piece of sheet metal.Overall thoughts: I really appreciate having this to aide in my shell sorting. Sorting through mixed brass is my least favorite part of shooting/reloading. This plate and the overall Shell Sorter System are a huge time saver and I don't know how I have lived without them for so many years. When taking into account the cost of this piece of metal and the fact that I have to help some of the .380 through the holes, I pulled one star from my ranking. That said, I am thoroughly glad that I have it, and would definitely recommend this to anyone looking to separate .380 and 9mm. It's worth it, even with its shortcomings.I hope I have helped your purchasing decision of this product. It works, but is no silver bullet
The product does separate 380 from 9mm and does save a bunch of time over hand sorting; however, it still takes a fair amount of effort. The plate is thin, I didn't measure it, but I would estimate it is about 1/8 inch or so (about the same as the case sorter plastic trays). Be careful as it will likely stop working if it gets bent. I placed the plate into the yellow (largest) tray and aligned the slots (it fell to within 1/4" of the bottom of the yellow tray, the same was true of the other color trays too). This allowed the 380 cases to fall into my plastic bucket. When I poured my 1/2 gallon of mixed 9mm/380 into the tray, several 380 cases fell through immediately; however, the 9mm cases quickly nested into the slots and did not want to come out. Shaking the tray vigorously resulted in 9mm cases coming out of the slots, then quickly re-nesting themselves and effectively blocking off the slots. When used in small batches, about a cupped handful of brass at a time, the plate works well, but must be emptied after each handful. This made the process much slower than I would have liked, but still faster than hand sorting. I also found that some 380 cases would fall about 3/4 of the way through the plate and get stuck. These cases were slightly deformed, probably from an unsupported chamber or getting stepped on at the range. I was easily able to push them through the plate, but doing this often may result in wear to the plate. Overall I would recommend this as it is faster than hand sorting, but it is no miracle tool.

Works as it should
I bought this to go along with the sorting tray set. I am glad i did because it is a lot easier to sort the 9mm fro the 380. The price on these are pretty much the same any were you look if they are in stock. This is a must have if you sort alot of 9mm and 380.

Works as it should.
This really is a fairly high priced item, even considering the amount of laser cutting involved but I must say it really does work.I sort all my 9mm brass over this now as even one .380 case in a progressive press really messes up workflow, and now I find before a press jam that occasional little bugger that somehow snuck in the pile.Invaluable if you are sorting range pick up brass.

Magic it works like magic
I was Aleta told that 380 was just a 9 mm case that is shorter, this sorts 380 out! Magic!

Makes quick work out of separating 9mm brass from .380. Kind of expensive.
Makes quick work out of separating 9mm brass from .380. It seems relatively expensive, even when compared to the overpriced plastic sorters you use it with. I suppose it takes some actual machining to get the slots to tight enough tolerances, but still shouldn't cost more than half as much again as the plastic sorters. A friend and I split the cost of the sorters and this since we both just save up a bunch of brass before sorting it all at once.

AWESOME FOR REMOVING 380 AUTO!!!!
As a reloader of 9mm that collects range brass I HATE 380 AUTO!!!! This sorta it right out. As a reloader of 9mm and 223, this separates my final pile of 380, 9mm and 223. I don’t believe 1 380 has ended up in my case feeder since getting this and I know they were going to, because I see how many it’s sorted out. I’ve sorted 15 gallons of brass with this so far. I highly recommend it to anyone loading 9mm.

Pricey, but worth the cost for the time it saves.
If you often find that you end up with a lot of .380 auto in your brass, this is a must have. I end up with a very wide verity, and a lot of, brass when I come home from my local indoor range. Sorting 9mm from .380 auto was often time consuming. Adding the .380 sorting plate to the rest of the brass sorting trays finished speeding up my sorting process Now I have a lot more time to load, and shoot.
