The Catrine pearl litter crystals do not absorb urine like normal cat litter, you therefore place the crystals into an empty and most importantly very clean litter tray (so in effect the crystals replace the usual litter). Once the cat has passed urine (I tend to use 2 bags of crystals as my cat prefers it and it gets less messy) the urine will be left underneath at the bottom of the tray. You can then use the pipette enclosed to remove the urine by suction, then put it into the provided bottle and take straight to vet but do not leave longer than 8/12 hrs. Good luck with the results.

From memory I think there was more like a large mug full of the product in the bag. This was sufficient to enable me to spread a very thin layer of the product over a plastic bin bag placed in my cats litter tray. I lifted my cat from his litter tray after he did a wee. I was then able to collect a fresh urine sample from the litter tray. I did find this product to be very satisfactory for this purpose.

Hi, what size is the packet please?

If I remember correctly it is roughly the same size as an A5 jiffy bag... The only thing I will say about it is to be careful opening the packing as the unit (mine at least and I had 2) leaked contents slightly....

Can you wash and reuse if needed

Hi, yes you can wash and reuse. I use an old sieve and keep rinsing under running water until clear and odour free.
