This is the tool you want for heat shrinking, as a hobbyist
This tool works perfect for heat shrinking electrical joints. Much more precise and easy to use, than a fullsize corded heatgun, or a blowtorch. Perhaps the battery life could be a concern for heavier use, but I haven't run into any trouble doing several heat shrinks at a time.I was worried from other reviews that said the heat output is weak. However I say, it is weak enough that it doesn't get you into trouble with burning/melting, especially in tight spaces. It is plenty strong to heat shrink quickly, just put it right up close to your work.I also used it for cleaning up stringers on 3D prints. I won't be using it to apply vinyl graphics to my dirt bike though!

Gets the Job Done
I love compact devices, especially, when you don't have to plug them into the wall outlet. This is a nice handy tool that fits easily into any tool box and can be used anywhere.I used it to take off the back cover of my cell phone to replace the battery. It worked like a charm. I applied heat for 2 minutes and the cover came right off without any prying. The specs don't say what the power rating is, so I calculated the active power rating (P = V x Ah) and is 14.4 Watts. That is low wattage and the blower fan is weak, but, it will get the job done.It works well for electronics, cellphones and computers, but it doesn't work that well on heat shrink. It will get the job done, but is kind of slow. A lighter works faster. However, for a small d-c device with a battery power source of 3.6 volts, it works pretty good. Therefore, I give it a rating of 4 stars.

Garbage DOA out the box
Was doa out the box, the heat gun will take a charge but the second you remove it off the charger it's completely dead again, even if it states its full. sadly I didn't test it when it came in so it was outside the return policy by the time I got to trying it out. Shame too cus I really needed it for my car audio install Live n learn, next time I'll get a name brand

Charging Time: 2 hours | Working Time: 25-28 minutes
This little heat gun has worked great so far! And as you can see in the picture I took with a thermal camera, it really does get up to about 600℉. I realize that the picture only shows the temperature at 574.1℉ but that was the best that I could do. I still don't really have a lot of experience using a thermal camera, and the temperature would fluctuate depending on where I would face the mini heat gun. It sure didn't feel like it was blowing that hot, but apparently it is. It certainly blows hot enough so that I can't keep my hand in front of it.Anyway, it sure is easy to use. However, you might hold down the button for a few seconds and have nothing happen. And that might be because they say to hold down the button for like 3 seconds to turn it on, yet your particular mini heat gun might take holding down the button for a little longer before it starts up. With mine it seems like I have to hold down the button for 5 or 6 seconds. Which isn't a big deal really, as long as you realize that could be possible and to try it instead of just assuming that if it doesn't kick on in exactly 3 seconds then it doesn't work. Well, once it's on with the blue light on, it's just blowing around the room temperature air. When you are ready though, you just push the power button, like the regular quick press of a button, and the light should turn red and the heating element should come on. You will know for sure that it is on because the tip of the mini heat gun will be emitting an orange color. And then from there, you can push the button again and go back to the blue fan mode, and then again to go back to the red heating mode, and on and on and on, lol. When you are ready to turn it off you just hold down the button until it shuts off. Just like powering it on though, it might take longer than holding it down for 3 seconds to turn it off.

Does not produce enough heat
Might be good for small craft projects. Built well, heats up fast. But air temp not as hot as other heat guns with 600F advertised temp.Probably a net btuh issue, small air movement for small precision projected. Purchased for low temp solder connections. Held on connection for 3.5 minutes before giving up. Regular heat gun is 20 seconds.I may have not been using it for it’s intended purpose.

As advertised
This is just as advertised. I use it to clean up 3D models, and it does that well.

One of my favorite obscure tools
This heat gun fits almost everywhere and puts out just enough heat to do small jobs without damaging something. Mine gets passed around and used daily in an aviation maintenance setting with no issues.

Slow to shrink shrink tubing
Product is slow and produces little heat and air movement.Takes minutes to heat and shrink shrink tuning. Not good if you have a wiring project with over 100 connections.
