NOW Sports, Amino Complete™, Protein Blend with 20 Aminos, 120 Veg Caps

My husband takes these daily before he goes to the gym. The pill is a normal capsule size. They have no taste. It does give you energy.

I am seeing some benefits from using this product. I seem to have more energy, and for some reason am not as stressed. The initial reason for the purchase was so that I can rebuild "thin" skin related to a lengthy period of Prednisone use. It seems to be working. I also would like to pick up a few healthy pounds and build some muscle back. I will update this review, if needed, but as of now, I am satisfied with this product. I plan to purchase it again. The only drawback I have with it is that you must take 4 capsules 1 to 3 times per day. I am using it twice/day right now. And, it is recommended that it be taken with food--at least juice, so I have to remember to take it then, or else find some juice to take them with on the run. They are not "horse pills" but they aren't small, either, so if you have difficulty taking pills, you might be able to open the capsule and take it with something, I guess. Right now, they are working just fine for me, and I would recommend them to anyone as just part of putting "building blocks" back into your system that vitamins, and other supplements don't fulfill. Might as well have the healthiest body I can, for as long as I can, right?

Good source of aminos but be prepared to take a handful for any noticable results.

First off-big fan of the NOW brand and I order other supplements from them and absolutely trust them for quality and consistency. Secondly-I ordered this amino acid supplement for years and lost around 15 pounds over the course of a few months, doing nothing different except taking this every morning on an empty stomach. Awesome right? Then, it was unavailable for a time so I ordered a back up and realized over time, the benefits I had gotten from the NOW supplement were not happening. I finally wised up and ordered this one again and-WOW. Today is the first day taking this one again and even tho I wasn’t expecting anything notable until a few weeks in, I have been SUPER energized today, after the first four pill dose. As in-I’m cleaning and maintaining energy all day, like I haven’t done in years. I’m super excited to experience the other benefits I had in the past with this product, including consistent weight loss and better skin texture. I highly recommend this product and brand and won’t even bother with another amino product in the future, even if this product is unavailable again. I will update if the weight loss I experienced in the past, is consistent with one of the favorable results of this product I’ve had in the past. The recommended dose of four a day is all I needed in the past and I expect the same taking this again. Great value an added bonus.

Gr8 recovery pills after a hard workout.

Works very good

I really wanted to like these. The price was great and it had so many great amino acids in it. Everytime I'd take all four, within an hour after that I get very sluggish, which is the opposite effect I'd receive when taking amino acids in the past. Usually it gives me a clear mind, focus, and a push to go to work out, but this doesn't do that. I did noticed that there is Tryptophan in this which is what you take at night to go to sleep. It is a good amino acid, but not sure I'd put sleeping amino acids in this and market it as a work out supplement. This also has Soy which isn’t healthy and one of the side effects of Soy is tiredness, so it’s mind boggling to me that products are still using it. It makes no sense and they should be more aware of its effects since they’re creating the product. I'll continue my search on looking for a decent bottle of essential amino acids that have a substantial amount per capsule that you can feel the difference. There just isn't enough in this to warrant taking it. Better off with powders. I would come back to this brand if they consider revamping it and changing the formula. Remove all of those Soy additives and Whey, remove tryptophan and any other amino acid that makes someone sleepy, then up the milligrams for all of the amino acids, and pack it into 1-2 pills, rather than 4. Then I'll consider coming back to this product.
