exteresting if you're this way inclinded
in-depth as expected from this series of books.I suspect it covers more than the exam like the CCNA books do but puts you in much better stead for the real world than the cut down version books you can get.

Great book companion: almost everything you'll need to take the CCNP exams
Very conveniently book pack focusing on most CCNP R&S knowledge. There are some quick refreshers on CCNA syllabus (which CCNP builds on). Whereas contents is very good and rather accurate, avoid the temptation of assuming everything is there:* go through the errata on the Cisco Press website. No book is perfect, and these are no exception. By now most of the mistakes must've been identified already.* double check the exam topics on Cisco's website, as each book's contents may not exactly match its corresponding exam. As the books organisation differs from the exam topic summary (which is understandable), a comparison is not straightforward.* for certain topics, the book's Introduction may refer you to CCNA (CCENT, ICDNx) books but sometimes are also available on any of the companion books. For instance, logging and SNMPv3 configuration (which the ROUTE book refers to ICND2) can also be found in the SWITCH book. Work from the exam topics to make sure nothing is left out.* the test engine on the CD (I only checked in one of the books) is only for Windows. Fortunately, you can use the activation codes on pearsontestprep.com for a cross-platform web-based engine, where you'll find the DIKTA ("Do I know this already") questions as well as a few mock exams (only multiple-choice questions, though).
