Human life is often dark and violent so why would vampire life be any different? I find the writing so real, so compelling that I have to almost believe that these vampires are real and among us. I doubt they could make a bigger mess of things than we do. In fact I have to admit that I love this series as much as the first seven books of J R Ward's Brotherhood series.The price of less than 290 pages though is a whole other matter. At just over £5.00 it is very nearly a price too high. This is not a paperback, I don't get a book I can stroke, a book with a beautiful colour front cover, a book I can flick back and forth through with ease. This is an ebook that after it's original cost can produce 10,000 as easily and as cheaply as ten. And before someone writes to me and tells me to buy 'real' books then, let me say this. I would love to, but and it is a big but, my very small house was at saturation point nearly three years ago a fact that drove me, albeit reluctantly, into the arms of my Kindle. I thank whichever god pointed me in that direction because now my very powerful Kindle Keyboard holds more books than you could shake a stick at. I don't dispense with my books, they are my loves and my companions who never let me down. I buy many books from many Indie authors but if ebooks become too expensive and over five pounds is too expensive, my loss will also be the loss of many other authors. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars fabulous series *by J***S on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 2 January 2014* I saw this on Netgalley and put in a request - I have all the others which I bought as they came out and hadn't realised there was a new one out. Sadly I got turned down :( ahhh... but I knew I had to have this book - and its great. I've read it twice now. as with all the series its the perfect blend of delicous sexy, arrogant (but not obnoxiously so) vamps, strong ladies, and lots of well written and erotic sex, topped off with a riveting plot. Each book is standalone, but the plots and vamps connect through the serIEs meaning when it ends :( i'll be having a VinA reading fest of back to back books. My favourite is still the first two - Raphael is just so...and perfect for Cyn, and Debbie always manages to stretch out the angst part which I love. All romances need that to balance out the love IMO!
