Update on the assembly of the stand- I watched the video at one quarter speed on full screen. That helped a lot. It still was pretty confusing and I had to go back a time or two when I looked away from what he was doing.I upgraded the stars from 3 to 4. If you aren't good at assembling things, hire a nerd-friend to do it for you! (I'm usually the nerd-friend who does this kind of thing for people!)I liked how colorful it is, and that all the pieces were present. I got this for some elementary-aged students I work with.What I didn't like was that the directions that were included weren't very detailed. I did go to YouTube and watch the video for assembling the model. The parts of the model were fairly easy to assemble by following the video. However, the background of the table under the model is black, and the parts of the model that are black were very difficult and frustrating to see! I can't say strongly enough that the assembly of the base was very frustrating. I can usually figure out how to assemble most things by just looking at them and fiddling with them. The base was difficult and without a good, clear photo of what it was supposed to look like.So, the product is worth 5 stars, but the directions are worth 1 star. This only gets 3 stars from me.

I purchased this kit as a science project for my son. He had to create a double stranded DNA helix. This kit and video was a huge time saver and money saver on all the supplies I would have had to pick up at Michael’s. It looked great and was the perfect find!

The dna itself is easy to build but the instructions for the base are worthless and the paper straw to keep it upright isn’t long enough nor a great choice. Save your money-not worth it.

Loved thst this is well made and a great resource for Life science or course studies on Genetics and DNA.

Just a little fun gift for my biochemist son.

Wasn't an easy assemble, structure isn't stable.

Built in correctly and continued to break apart. Would not stand on its own.
