Very Pleased
I never take the time to write reviews, but I was so impressed with the WizGear Mount that I had to rate it for others. This replaces my first car mount of another make/design that mounted to the air vent by friction friction only, and had mechanical arms that used the weight of the phone to grip it. Eventually, the friction for the air vent mount loosened and my phone was no longer secure, falling out of the mount during turns and bumps. I got a WizGear mount this week based on the high reviews for my vehicle and my wife's vehicle and installed them immediately. As an engineer I was so impressed with the design that I wanted to break down the major features that are an improvement from my last phone mount device. Air Vent Twist Lock The arm mount grips the air vent and is tightened using a twist lock, which is much more secure than relying on friction alone. Ball Joint Twist Lock There is a ball joint on the arm mount which allows the phone to swivel into a convenient position, regardless of the orientation of the vent. This ball joint also has a twist lock that allows the stiffness of that joint to be adjusted. I like a little play in the joint so I can change phone positions while driving to account for glare. But if you want that joint to be stiff and permanent, just tighten the twist lock until it doesn't move at all. Magnetic Phone Lock A thin plate of steel has to be attached to your phone for the magnet to hold. This magnet does not interfere with phone operation or charging. Since I have a slim case on my phone for protection, I just slipped the steel plate between my phone and case backing. The plate is very slim and slipped right in without making my case buldge, and the magnet is plenty powerful to grip the phone even with the spacing caused by my phone case. If you don't have a case, you can attach the plate to the back of your phone with double sided adhesive in the box. My wife has pop socket where the plate needed to be located, which wasn't going to work. I decided to place the magnet very low on the back of her phone to avoid hitting the pop socket, and the phone still holds just as strong as with my phone. Transferability / Clearance It is quick and easy to remove the mount arm from one vehicle and move to another. I travel a lot, so I needed this feature for rental vehicles. The arm gives sufficient clearance to fit well on many dash designs. I found that my previous mount device was too short and stuby to install on certain dash designs without interference from the mount or the phone itself if the air vents did not protrude out sufficiently. Summary This is a well thought out design. My phone is very secure and yet, adjustable. Since we share cars, I'm very pleased to have the same mounting system in both vehicles.

Highly recommended
I have purchased two of these magnetic mounts, and I have been extremely pleased with their performance. I've used mine for about 7 months and recently bought the same model for my grandparents to use on their long distance drives. In my 2012 Ford Escape, my vents are horizontal, but in my grandparent's 2019 GMC Terrain, the vents are vertical. This mount works equally well in both styles. Pros: -Incredibly easy to use! Get in car, snap phone on holder. Done! -Rotates so you can get the right viewing angle for multiple users (my husband & I both us it with no issues) - and it stays where I position it (not weighed down by phone) -Perfect viewing level for me - don't have to look far to see screen & therefore be distracted from the road (I'm 5'2", for reference) -Extremely secure - my phone has never slipped, fell off, or moved at all once it's on the mount (as long as you keep it tightened) -Magnet is hidden inside phone case, so it's completely invisible (see photo) -No suction cup marks on the windshield! -Comes with multiple magnets so you can use more than one device -Solves the issue of the textured dashboard - I can't use dashboard mounts due to the glue not sticking to the texture ; and again, does not need to be mounted to windshield with suction cups which can be very finicky Cons: -Since it connects to an air vent, depending on your vehicle, you may be limited on placement -Again, since it connects to an air vent, it does block some of the airflow (a slight bummer when you try to blast AC mid-summer); also, it restricts the up/down movement of the vent a bit in my vehicle (2012 Ford Escape) -The adjustable clamp for inside the air vents has to be periodically tightened to maintain "stiffness" (i.e. phone doesn't weigh mount down - when it gets loose sometimes the whole mounts will come off with my phone, but it's easily fixed by tightening) -The magnet is quite strong, so you can't just rip the phone off the mount or the whole thing might come off the vent - I've found it helps to "roll" it off to the side and it pops right off without moving the mount clips on the vent Overall, highly recommended. This mount has been very reliable and I use it at least weekly. It is small and compact and could be used on travel, in rental cars, etc. Just don't forget it in your rental car!

decent car mount
In my opinion the top two types of cellphone mounts are the suction cup ones and the magnet ones. Everything else doesn't work well or is obsolete (cd cellphone mount). I like the magnet ones a little better than the suction cup ones because I like the windshield to be clear and mounting it on a leather dashboard ruins the leather especially since it's pretty thin/fake leather. I also like the fact that with the magnet you can just place the phone onto the mount without much effort and you can do it with one hand. Compared to the competition, this one has 6 magnets vs the common 4 magnet set up... i figured the more magnets the better. The fact that you can tighten the grip to the ac vent is also important because the phone mounts that don't fall off really easily... i know because i bought one. There are a few reasons why I couldn't give the product 5 stars. First, the knobs loosen over time and you have to retighten and readjust the car mount. This is not a deal breaker but it is kind of annoying that I have to retighten the mount every few days. I like to install something and never have to worry about it again. Secondly, the magnet placement on the phone itself is kinda of ugly so most people put the magnet in between the phone and the phone case. This is fine but it kind of requires you to buy a phone case and the phone case needs to be opaque or else you are going to see the ugly magnet on the back of your phone. Overall, I would recommend the mount. It has a pretty small footprint on the car and it does what it is suppose to do. It's easy to use and my phone stays pretty secure on the mount when I am driving.

Not too bulky, strong magnet
This is the second one I’ve bought, the first one lasted me at least 5 years? It finally got loose where it attaches to the vent. I got another one and it works great. The magnet is really strong, and the mount doesn’t shake like those bigger car phone mounts. Highly recommend

Perfect!
Got this item yesterday. Grabbed it from the mailbox while at the house for lunch, and had it figured out and ready to go in less than 5 minutes. I have a Commuter case from Otterbox, so I just popped the exoskeleton off the case, aligned the metal piece (which is sufficiently thick enough to create a strong attraction to the magnets inside the swiveling head), then put the exoskeleton back on, so that it sits between the plastic of the exoskeleton and the rubber of the case surrounding the phone. I attached the phone and then tried to shake it loose. It didn't detach until I was really giving it hell. If your phone detaches because of road vibrations, then you must have some seriously messed up roads. I've seen a few reviews that claim the unit won't stay attached to their vent, and that it pulls loose. That hasn't been my experience so far. The grip is strong, and the thumb lever/screw provides sufficient torque to hold. Perhaps the problem lies in how they're removing their phone? Despite how strongly it holds, it removes very easily just by levering uip one side, which breaks the pull of the magnets. By doing that, the base never budges for me. Do note, however, that his mount won't work on circular vents. It needs to be a louvered vent. My side vents are circular, and I guess they're looser or something because the weight of the phone just pulled it down. I've just started doing some part-time driving with Uber and had been looking for something that would work for that situation. I was looking at ProClips, which uses the seams on your dashboard to mount their product. Probably the best option if money isn't an issue, but the total cost of the base plus the specific phone mount is close to $70. Not an amount I want to spend to simply have a dependable phone mount. Plus each base and mount is designed for a specific car and phone. Change phones or cars and you have to change either your base or your mount. And you know you're going to be changing phones every couple of years. I first tried one of the cigarette lighter mounts because that seemed like it would be the best of both worlds. Able to charge and mount within the same unit. Unfortunately, the model I purchased was pretty unstable and would vibrate its way out and disconnect from the power. And the gooseneck was too short and stiff to really get it where you wanted it. Plus, I was having to look down at my phone to see the screen. This mount brings the phone up on the dashboard so that it's a simple shift of the eyes to see it. And, as I've already said, not a hint of vibration or movement. I'll update if things change, but for now, it looks like a winner to me!

Works well, but
This device works as advertised and I like the magnetic attachment more then other types that use a clamp to hold the mobile phone. The adjustable part , intended to be fitted into the vent strip, didn't hold my Android S22 consistently. Had to to tighten often so that the holder wouldn't dislodge from the vent.

This is how an ideal car mount (air vent design) should work!!! So simple yet so effective!
I don't usually write too many positive reviews but this phone mount is just amazing and I wanted to give credit where it's due to the seller. I previously used the 'mainstream' Logitech car vent mount for almost 3 years. That one actually costs more and you only get one, when you really need two, at least for large smartphones ( had the S6, and now S8 plus). The old mount was good, but for safety, I put two on. Also, the 'clip' kept coming off the air vent whenever I dislodged my phone. In fact, while doing that, I lost 1 of the 2 mounts. And hence, I researched what was available and got this Wizgear amount, which fits my phone much better (much larger rectangular surface area vs. the maybe 1 inch circular Logitech mount. Also, this allows 'twist-lock' tightening of the mount to the air vent, and won't loosen or come off. Lastly, I never liked the Logitech mount because although it was simple aesthetically, the phone could not swivel and provided an off-angle view of the screen , which hinders GPS navigation while driving. The WizGear allows full swivel, is extremely stable (no flapping or vibrating against the vents during bumpy or long highway rides!) and its 'elevated position allows breathing room for the air vent and fan to operate without much blockage. The old mount basically mounted flush to the vent and blocked use of the vents, including heating during the winter, which wasn't ideal. This mount takes care of all the Logitech's weaknesses, and is cheaper to boot. The only thing I'd prefer, which is being anal, is a different color option (I like Logitech's sleek metallic silver). Also, the Wizgear logo is a tad too big for my liking, especially if I don't mount my phone. Still, a fabulous product!

Best available in a pretty bad market segment. :-)
all car-phone-clips have issues. Some don't stick to your dashboard, some don't hold the phone well, some don't hold the phone level, some fall out of your AC vents. This one isn't perfect, but it's about the best I've ever found, and I've now purchased two. The magnet is strong enough to hold my phone with the metal plate on the inside of an Otterbox's hard plastic shell. In fact, it holds onto one of my phones so well that I have be careful to slide the phone off "sideways", or it pulls the clip off the AC vent. The AC Vent Clip can be tightened down by hand, and does a good job of holding on, even in a bouncy sprinter-van-RV. It's cheap. You're not dealing with one of those sprint-loaded claw type devices. The biggest issue I've found: you have to put the metal plate on the phone in a VERY careful place in order to make the phone balance in both portrait and landscape mode... and some phones have so much stuff at the top that it can be hard to make the phone hang properly balanced in any orientation. One benefit I hadn't thought of until i saw it in action: GPS can really cause some phones to get WARM. hanging the phone in your AC airstream helps keep it cool!

the strongest magnetic phone car mount
perfect device, you can fix the mount to the blades of the air inlet, put it on, turn a ring, and it fixed, the magnet is very strong, can hold my S9 with the quite thick led view case

Strong
Set up was easy. Magnet is strong and vent clip is sturdy. Tested on 45 min road trip and the vent clip and phone held in place. Would definitely recommend. Thinking of getting the 2 pack for my other vehicles but noticed vent clip is different and magnet smaller. Will have to research a little more before I decide.
