Activa Class 2 Below Knee Support Stockings open toe

Disappointed.
For the record, I get a regular prescription of Activa stockings each month from my GP, but I wanted a spare pair because they often ladder or tear. The point being, I know how they are packed by Activa and how they are supposed to be sealed. So I was not at all happy when I received this pack. When I opened the box (which had been flattened in transit) the stockings were lying loose. They were not in the usual small sealed plastic bag that Activa stockings come in - and that bag is sealed with a label by Activa which reassures users that they are indeed genuine Activa stockings. The stockings smelled quite strongly of soap, as though they had just been washed, which makes me suspect this pair were previously sent to someone who sent them back, or worse still, perhaps they had been used once or twice and are second hand. Either which way, I won't be using them and will never order from this supplier again.

Perfect fit and these stay up all day.
These are the most comfortable and effective support stockings I have found. I'm 5'9" tall with size 8 feet and bought the extra large size. Very pleased with them, they wash well and dry overnight.I have tried a few different makes before and none of the others stayed in place, I was constantly trying to pull them back up. If you have ever experienced the painful strangulation that occurs when compression stockings slide down and gather round your ankle, you'll understand the relief in finding a pair that do actually stay in place and compress effectively. I can wear the Activa ones all day without needing to adjust them. The top cuff is really strong (the reason that these do stay up) and I have found that if there is excess material under the knee the cuff can roll down, which can be uncomfortable - so I am careful not to pull them too high up so that the cuff sits nice and flat. As class 2, the compression is quite strong and they are tight to get over your heel, but this is to be expected and once on they are really effective. I have really happy ankles.

These stockings keep ankles slim but can ladder if treated roughly
Previously, I had been issued with full foot stockings, from Activa, by my GP. I found them prone to damage from my long big toes. I decided to order the same stockings but with open toes to avoid this (costly) problem. The open toe versions are easier to put on but can ladder so keep feet and hands as soft as possible. I take medication that tends to dry my skin causing little hard skin tags that are not easy to prevent - hence the possible problem of laddering the stockings. Otherwise, these stockings do a good job and eliminate oedema around my ankles. November 2020, I am still ordering and wearing these stockings. They continue to work to prevent a build up of oedema round my ankles and lower leg.

Closed toes: Can’t wear - rubs toes (see update for open toe version)
Good support but too tight around toes. Needs to be roomier.. After a few weeks started to get ‘corns’ from the rubbing. So can’t wear them.I’m not petite or slim, probably average weight.Update: Have since purchased the open toe version, and they are wonderful. The fabric gives superior compression to the (roomier) closed toe stockings I sourced from an other supplier. So for the summer I will use Activa and in the winter the other.I must say my ankles are hardly swollen, throb, or have that heavy feeling now. Feel so much better which I’d worn them years ago. I wear them from when I get up, to when I go to bed.

Very comfortable
These stockings had previously been prescribed by my GP, so I knew that they were of excellent quality. I needed a spare pair and not wishing to impose on the cash-strapped NHS I purchased this pair from Amazon. Some compression stockings I have had in the past felt like instruments of torture. These do not. They are very comfortable and really do help to prevent my legs aching by the end of the day. Delivery was very quick.

Class 2 Support Stockings
Our Consultant Dermatologist recommended these to help withe my husband's Venous leg ulcer and compromised circulation. He says they feel incredibly comfortable and has absolutely no problem wearing them all day as prescribed by consultant. We did however have difficulty finding a size chart but eventually did on another site. Getting the right size is ABSOLUTELY ESSENTIAL I am told, and for very good reason. Once you know the correct size these stockings are fantastic for the job

as i am allowed only 2 pairs on prescription every 6 months and i have to wear them for the rest of my life I'm not very happy w
i got my first 2 pairs on prescription as i am under medical supervision. however i noticed they damaged/laddered within a couple of weeks. as i am allowed only 2 pairs on prescription every 6 months and i have to wear them for the rest of my life I'm not very happy with their durability. that is why i thought it necessary to buy extra pairs from amazon. obviously at nearly £20 a pair i don't want to have to do this too often. i don't believe I've been overly clumsy in putting them on and taking them off and have even used activa's own device for putting them on. otherwise I've found fairly comfortable.

Good quality compression socks
Unfortunately I've recently had DVT so am now a fully fledged member of the compression sock/tight gang! I have had one pair from the same brand via the pharmacy which we open toe and sheer in colour...not very masculine at all; so I've done some research and found that I can buy these and they're cheaper on amazon than their own website...bargain.They're better than the open toe version and look a lot better imo. One thing is that I don't find them to be thick enough and could be prone to laddering (one has already developed in my other pair!). They do work and help reduce the swelling and pain in my leg - 5 stars for that!
