Q: do you put this on before cooking or after (like you would salt)

Hi. I do both. Sometimes I sprinkle it on weds or roast potatoes before cooking, sometimes meat too. I also use it on potato crisps, and for anything that lacks taste sometimes, like instant noodles. It's even nice sprinkled on mash!

Q: Is this like the red salt you get from takeaways?

I’m afraid I don’t know the red salt as I tend not to have takeaways . I use the Schwartz seasoning on home made potato wedges , cut large potatoes into wedges , put in a large bowl , sprinkle with olive oil , mix and sprinkle with the seasoning . Mix again and tip onto a baking sheet , bake for about 45 mins , gas mark 180 . Hope that is some help .

Hi yes it is. I've bought this quite a few times now. Very nice on meat and other things too

Q: Is it powder or is it coarse?

Powder. It's a mix of salt, onion powder and paprika as well as other ingredients.
