Arrives fresh and crispy and hard to resist. Cost more than at home (Hawaii) but definitely a reasonable treat. Review: FINALLY! SOME GOOD ARARE - I didn't start out looking for these, but was real glad I did! I've enjoyed these crackers since I was a kid. I had a neighbor who was Japanese and introduced me to a lot of fun snacks. These can be hard to find, depending on where you live, at least good ones. So after looking at some of the offerings and the prices on desertcart I settled on giving these and the Asia Trans Co. a try. These have wonderful deep soy sauce flavor and color. And many others I've tried just pale in comparison, seriously, they're a very light color or actually white and there's very little taste. Beware - This particular brand of arare contain MSG. So those of you who freak out about this ingredient or are sensitive to it - stay away. The bag came full to the brim in its own resealable bag. The bag itself is pretty thick and I hope the seal is tight enough to keep them fresh. Nothing worse than getting some of these and the next day or two and they're stale. In comparing these to the Asia Trans brand, I find these to have a better flavor; that's probably the addition on the msg, but I'll take it. The two bags came in a single box, without paper or plastic bubble packs so they wouldn't bang around and break into cracker dust. So I was surprised to find that they're mostly intact. I poured some in a bowl, tried to get pieces from the bottom as well. You can see that there are not a lot of broken pieces despite there not being any padding. I also put some on the paper with a bottle cap to show scale, since these are not very large. I also included a picture of the expiration date, a little over eight months from now. Overall, I'm very satisfied with these and would buy them again. I'm not sure I'd share them just yet, maybe just direct them to desertcart so they can get their own pack.

It’s fresh and delicious!
Ok this is my second time ordering from them and I’m lucky that I live on the same island as the seller so I get my bag ASAP! More importantly is that this is really good. The saltiness is just right and the crunch is unbelievable. I feel like I have to tell myself to stop eating or it won’t even last a week which my first time ordering from them is how long the bag lasted. If you like salty and savory Japanese rice crackers which if you haven’t had arare before it’s like Chex but a little more crunchy and salty but a little sweet at the same time then I say go ahead and give it a go! It goes really good with beer too!

Good... but no difference in taste among the shapes.
Usually, when I buy rice crackers, there is a distinct difference in taste in the assortment. Some are sweet, some are salty, some spicy, some taste of the nori shreds on them. These all taste the same, with the same coating; the only thing different is in the shape. Not exactly what I was expecting. However, they do taste good: nicely salty, fresh, and crunchy. I'm knocking off one star because it appeared that this would be a true assortment and it's not. But... I've ordered several other types of rice crackers to mix into it (especially chili bits!), and then I'll have the snack assortment of my dreams :-D By the way, these crackers do go extremely well with peanut-butter-stuffed pretzel bites if you like the latter.

Love Tomoe! No Yellow or Blue Dye
I grew up in Hawaii, and Tomoe is my absolute favorite brand of arare. I've been living on the mainland, which means paying a premium for them, but Tomoe makes it worth it because they're the only ones who don't use yellow or blue dye. I've ordered this bag over a dozen times over the years, and the price jumps around a lot. Unfortunately, there can be a lot of broken pieces, and because the bag is so large, they can go stale unless you place them in a sealed bag. I wish there were more small bags available to purchase.

So expensive but so delicious.
This is our favorite rice cracker. We buy the big bag because it lasts 5 days in our house instead of 5 minutes like the small bags you can buy at the grocery store.

Buying crumbs last two purchases…
Great rice crackers but crumbs when I got them. Half were okay but the other were crumbs. Packaging was like new, not crushed. This has happened the last two purchases…
