Great fiber cable for long runs
First off, I would like to give a huge shout out to the review done by M. Silva regarding this product. The info in his review helped me properly use this cable and select the correct transceivers to use with this cable. This was the first fiber cable I have ever bought. I had a long Ethernet cable run in my house that recently went bad. The run was from my garage (where my router is located) to my office. My office is the single most important place in my house that I needed a reliable Internet connection. Besides using my office for working from home, it also houses my Plex media server that streams high bandwidth content throughout my house. For these reasons I needed something reliable and fast, so I decided to upgrade the connection from an ethernet connection to a fiber connection. I already had a router and a switch that had SFP ports (Ubiquiti Dream Machine Pro and Ubiquiti switch) that would allow me to use fiber. However, being the first time ever using fiber, I thought all fiber cables were the same, so I randomly selected this cable. When it came time to select the transceivers to plug into the SFP ports so that I could use this fiber cable, I realized there was different types of fiber cable. This is when I realized I would have to buy the correct transceivers that would work with this cable and my networking equipment. With the info from the review from M. Silva to help guide me, I bought compatible transceivers (10Gtek 1.25G SFP Transceiver 1000Base-LX, 1310nm SMF, up to 10 km), and proceeded to install. Two of the things I loved about this cable was that it was already terminated, and it was already set up to be pulled through walls. From one end of the cable, it has a hook already installed that you can use to pull the cable with. The hook is attached to the cable via some stretch mesh. The mesh also protects the terminated end so that it won't get damaged as it gets pulled. This made it a lot easier to pull the cable through the walls in my two-story house going up from my garage, into the attic, across the attic, and then back down to my first-floor office. One of the things I was afraid of was that the cable being fiber cable, it could be susceptible to damage if it is bent too much, but the cable was very sturdy and survived intact being pulled through the walls and attic of my house.Once the fiber cable run was done, I hooked the already terminated fiber cable up to the Ubiquiti router and switch using the transceivers I purchased, and everything started to work instantly. I tested out speeds and I was getting a full gigabit. My current equipment currently limits me to 1 gigabit, but one of the reasons I ran the fiber was to future proof myself so that one day I can go 10 gigabit or possibly higher. This fiber cable should be able to support these speeds in the future.Overall, an outstanding product and I am very happy with it. I definitely would recommend this fiber cable. Just make sure you purchase the correct transceivers to support this type of fiber cable. Also, make sure that you measure out the distance you need correct, so you don't end up too short or with too much extra cable. I myself ended up getting too much cable (I should've done one size down), but I just left the extra cable in the spool sitting next to my router.

Excellent outdoor rated fiber cable
I have an outdoor building that I am planning on extending high-speed networking with this OS2 fiber cable. This cable uses LC to LC connections and I have several spare Transceivers that allow me to hook up to this fiber. When I originally hooked up the fiber, I could not get a connection. I tested with an OM3 fiber cable, and the connection worked perfectly.A part of ordering this fiber was to help educate me on the various standards and what is required to make a fiber connection on my network. Even though this OS2 single-mode fiber cable has the same LC to LC connections as my OM3 fiber cable, you must use the correct transceivers to get this to work. My transceivers were 850 nm laser wavelengths. To get this to work required a transceiver wavelength of 1310 nm. So, for me, this has helped me a bit to understand the different fiber standards and requirements. I have been lucky in the past ordering fiber cables that matched my transceivers without a real understanding of how to match up the fiber cable to the transceivers.Once I ordered and tested this OS2 fiber cable with 1310 nm transceivers, it connected perfectly. I am glad I tested this OS2 fiber as it has helped me better understand the different fiber standards and requirements. For my home use, OS2 or OM3 fiber works fine. Just realize that each requires the correct laser wavelength transceivers to be matched for the fiber cable type to work.

GREAT VALUE!!!
This is a super buy. The quality of the armor is excellent and the ability to pull with the molded end could not be better. We tested before and after the pull, 100%. This is the one to buy, 5 big stars.
