Apparent Coil Whine but…..
I decided I didn’t really require anything outlandish for the older titles I play and as this was on offer with good reviews I took a punt.I predominantly use 1440p and this handles everything thrown at it admirably with settings at ‘Ultra’. To maintain FPS of 120-150 I had to turn it down to ‘High’ and that’s its sweet spot.Even under heavy load it runs reasonably coolly, the dedicated GPU fans never run much past 60%.At 16GB GPU memory there’s more than sufficient to handle most tasks though I’ve seen Elite Dangerous near the limit on a few occasionsCoil Whine was fairly apparent but not a big deal as I tend to use headphones. I imagine with speakers it would be an issue. This is worth noting and may be of interest to anybody suffering coil whine on any card: As I mention above it was an issue for me when simply hooked to the mains via a 6-way extension block. This was eradicated completely when I integrated my mains conditioner from an unused hifi system. When you consider that the only input into your system is electricity you can understand the phrase, “garbage in, garbage out”. I get that most people won’t have a £2,500 mains unit kicking about but you can buy extension blocks with lesser conditioners integrated for around the £100 mark. If this powers your amp/speakers and monitor too the likely uplift in performance you’ll probably receive make it a reasonable investment.

Great card at the purchased price
Installed inside a Coller Master NR200p Max. Bit of a squeeze, but combined with an Asus B650E-I motherboard, a Ryzen 7600x CPU, and 32GB of RAM it is the bassis for a decent machine.850w PSU is solid enough for the above. Very happy with the purchase.

Amazing card for 2k and a bit of 4k gaming
Plays amazing at 2k, and amazing at 4k for some games. At 2k, I set everything on ULTRA and at 4k, I set HIGH and they play well too.

Amazing GPU
Great GPU, the support is really useful. Superb performance paired with my Ryzen 7700. The price does fluctuate and somehow I managed to get it for less than £400.

Bought on the 20th of August and now its dead....
absolute beast of a card for 1440p. It was a great card and I was having tonnes of fun with it until I discovered through trial and error that it was the culprit that wasnt allowing my PC to power on. Id press the power button. PSU would click but nothing more would happen. It all happened pretty suddenly. Powered the computer off in the evening like normal and went to bed then tried to start it the following morning and it was completely dead.Machine was freshly built, I spent and entire afternoon rebuilding it in the hopes that maybe the motherboard had somehow become earthed with the case and maybe that was the issue. Unfortunately it wasnt and carried on switching parts in and out not knowing it was this 7800XT till I put my almost 3 year old 6700XT back in as a hail Mary before giving up for the evening and I was surprised beyond belief when it booted and started up like normal as if nothing ever happened.Apart from being pretty distraught that it died so early. I'm really disappointed that the only option available to me was a refund instead of a replacement.I bought this card for £405 and now its £545 (at time of posting this review). Im not going to pay an extra £140 to have the exact same thing again when I got it at much cheaper price the first time. Now Im stuck in limbo, waiting for the 8xxx series if I cant pick up another 7800 XT like this Nitro+ for around £400 again.Luckily the Amazon return window was still open and I got a full refund but I still free very cheated. I thought I had caught lightning in a bottle with the price i got it for but I had to let it go.6700XT is still chugging along fine albeit a fair bit weaker than the 7800XT - If this suddenly dies aswell then i'll know I had a bad power supply which would be pretty surprising since its a brand new Seasonic Focus+ GX-850.
