what happens to it in heat over 150 degrees anyone use it in temps above 150

I don't know about 150 °. I know the dryer I have is newer and it can with stand the heat that my dryer put out. I HAVE NO IDEA ABOUT TEMP. BUT MY DRYER WORKS GREAT, AND IT GETS QUITE HOT.

Did anyone notice a weird smell after installation and dryer use?

I did not notice any odor. But to be honest my dryer sits up against the outside wall which means I only use about 10” of hose. The vent that it connects to is also very short so with the fresh air close if it did smell it quickly dissipated so I didn’t notice.

Does it maintain the shape it's set to?

Yes it keeps its shape, and good looks for an air dryer vent hose. U can't go wrong with this purchase. It's durable, better looking then the hoses that look like there wrapped in foil. And it's a fair price. It's also very flexible. So from personal experience it's a upgrade product with a down graded price... Its like a big plastic slinky.... so to answer ur question - I'm sure the shape u want will stick. Debra

Can you cut this hose if its too long?

Yes it could be cut. I likely would not, and just leave it compressed. Th hole vent is like 6-8 inches long not extended.
