Damit really works!
Excellent product. New pond in 25% clay, 45% loam & 30% sandy soil. First few weeks was loosing 3 to 4 inches of water per day. We purchased Damit and sprinkled according to directions over entire pond surface. Leaking slowed down to under 2 inches per day. Waited one week and sprinkled again. After second application leak was about 3/4 to 1 inch per day. Inspected the dam and located two small leaks and following week applied product in the dam area and at the very center of the pond where we possibly missed some spots in previous applications. So now after three applications, no more leaks in the dam and the pond is holding water very well.

Temporary fix
This stuff worked initially. It turns to a slime like substance and seals up wherever it’s seeping out. The sealer breaks down in a few months though. In about three months after the application, my pond is now seeping again. It seems to be seeping just as much as before I used Damit. Total waste of money for a very temporary fix.

Long review. It worked
My 6ft deep pond dropped about 6" a day til it levelled off at 1ft deep. It was like this since built about 3 years ago. I bought 2 big boxes based on application rate of 1650 sq ft per 15L box. I first applied it to the existing water with a broadcast spreader. I waited 2 days then added water to about 3ft deep. I then applied around perimeter to cover the "new" water. After talking with shalex, they informed me that i could apply it to the ground if i was filling it slowly. Based on this i applied the final application to the ground and turned the hose on. After it got full it stayed full. I waited to review it. Its been a couple of months now so i am convinced it works. The pond is approx 30 yard circle. The progressive applications kept me from having to use a boat.I got some blowback from the wind. As i sweated, a slimy layer formed on my forehead. When i showered, my hair swelled to 3 times its size when the water hit it. I squeezed out what i would call a jelly from my hair. I stepped on some that was wet on the shoreline. It was like ghostbusters slime. Some stayed on ground, some stuck to shoe, and strings of slime connected the two. After application, i had a layer of " jelly drops". They stayed floating in the pond for several weeks but caused no damage. At this point thos is no evidence thst the product was applied. The only incident was a small fish kill. I contacted shalex and their speculation made sense. The initial application creates a slime layer on the surface. It blocks oxygen from getting to the water. My very low water level with a lot of fish resulted in low oxygen levels prior to application. The die off were minnows and baby fish. No big fish died. I would see the minnows gasping for air prior to application. I fully satisfied with their answers to my questions. This is a long review cause this product needs a long review. Half of me thought i was buying snake oil. Extensive research on you tube and forums only resulted in one " it worked ". The rest is just speculation or applications where we dont get follow up to see if it worked.Considering the alternatives of draining a pond, losing all the fish, and fixing it with bentonite clay using heavy machinery, this product is CHEAP if it works for you. If i have to reapply in a few years, its still cheap. 5 stars cause it works, and it exists. THANK YOU.

Slowed down leak
It has only been in pond for about 3 1/2 weeks so hasn’t had time to work sufficiently. We applied per directions. It is very messy to work with. Suggest you wear gloves and do not spill on any area that you might have to walk on creates a slippery surface. Once wet turns into slime. We bought 2 containers and will apply the 2nd container in about a month if pond continues to leak. We have almost an acre pond so it will take a while to work but sure it has helped slow down leak.

Buy with confidence!
This has been a dream come true! Our pond holds an estimated 30k gallons of storm water. Yet it would seem out at the quick rate of about 3" per day. In no time it seems it would be near empty. We applied this stuff in by hand just shaking it out of a quart container and the results have been incredible. Our leak has slowed to about 2 inches per week which is acceptable. But since we only used about half of the Damit in the can I plan to reapply soon to see if we can improve things even more. Well worth the $325 price tag!Update: I reapplied the 2nd half of the Damit container and now my leak has slowed to about an inch per week. Very pleased with my purchase!

I believe you have a 50/50 chance of it working.
Damit is a pond sealant for leaks in dams or downhill areas below a pond. I applied the product as directed and now, 2 weeks later my pond appears to still be leaking. We had 3 inches of rain over a 5 day period, yet my pond dropped another 1 inch. In addition, once the powder gets wet it turns into SLIM which is how it is suppose to work. WARNING anything the powder gets on, your body, clothes, shoes, boat, etc. it will be pure slim also. I applied mine by boat early morning under calm conditions. When it was all applied, I was beginning to think I was not going to be able to get out off my boat due to everything covered in slim. There really has to be a better way to apply it or a better product. It is also rather expensive also. So far I can't recommend it or say that it works.

This really works!
This product really works! We were looking at spending a few thousand dollars to fix our leaking 1/4 acre pond. Before we pulled the trigger, my husband saw this and thought we'd give it a try. Within 24 hours we saw a dramatic reduction in the leaking. The pond is holding water now for a fraction of the cost and an hour to spread it. We're going to do this again using a rowboat to broadcast. Application was super messy but worth it!Update 9-2018: pond is still holding water. Recent rains brought the water level up further than ever so hubs bought more to treat the top 4 feet of the pond.
