Over the years, the Dayton Family has garnered a substantial cult following in the Midwest with their potent hardcore rap. The band sprung to life In 1995 with the release of their debut album, Whats on My Mind? In addition to this debut album, the Dayton Family also managed to score a slot on No Limit's Down South Hustlers compilation, where they opened the double album with their 'Stick N Move' track - a magnificent track that immediately put them on the map throughout the South. Fastlife. 2005.

another solid album from the Dayton Family - 4.5 stars
Bootleg and Shoestring are back after 3 years with a new album, another solid album more like 4.5 stars. This is the 3rd album of their's I have and probably tied for my favorite. With 19 songs, 2 are almost classics, 3 are ok, the other 14 are good (a few being real good). Guests are minimal, rapping on 5 songs (and all are good)and doin the hook on 2. Their formula hasn't changed in the last 10 years, still gangsta/street tales, and they do it good. Production is pretty good (although I'm a little upset Steve Pitts who did alot of their 1st 2 group albums didin't do any). Gee Pierce did 5 sogns, Screwface music did 4 songs, Pee Wee Moore & Bengi each do 3, and Ill Will Fulton, Noize 2 Go, MoSS, and TwinZ each do 1. A nice album for the Dayton Family fans to grab.#1 - 8#2 - 8.5 (rock beat)#3 - 8.5 (f/ Capone)#4 - 8 (an ode to Chevy's over a rock beat)#5 - 8 (deeper song f/ J Notiq)#6 - 8.5#7 - 8.5 (f/ Billy Stokes -- tight song, bad hook)#8 - 9 (nice beat)#9 - 8 (another rock beat)#10 - 9 (nice beat)#11 - 7.5#12 - 9.5 (f/ Cormega -- nice beat)#13 - 8.5 (f/ Kurupt -- also on his "Against tha Grain" album)#14 - 8.5 (f/ MC Breed -- nice beat)#15 - 7#16 - 8.5#17 - 7.5#18 - 9.5 (nice beat)#19 - 9 (f/ J Notiq)BOOTLEG -- Ira Dorsey -- Flint, MISHOESTRING -- Raheem Peterson -- Flint, MIcheck all my reviews

Classic TDF
Bootleg and Shoestring returned to classic form with this album. Much better than Welcome to the Dopehouse. WOMM and FBI are still better. How 50 Cent sells millions of albums and these guys don't I'll never know. TDF is 10 times better than 50 could ever hope to be. I guess like life, it's all who ya know.Chevy's is my favorite track (mainly because I roll in a big black chevy blazer). Everything's Chicken (but the bone) is my second fav. The rest of the tracks roll in at #3. No song is weak in my opinion, I wouldn't skip any tracks on this CD, just keep going back to Chevy's a ton of times.A must have!

Them Dayton Boys' Are Back!
Finally the Dayton Family have released a new album. I was surprised to see this album in stores (I found it at Best Buy here in Dallas). I don't even bother to tell people about this group anymore since I got tired of all the crazy looks people gave me after I told them about Dayton Family. They are very underrated and are unnoticed by BET & MTV. Family Feud should be a good album to bump for all rap fans. The group really shines on the second half of the album with songs like Ass Whoop, Reckless, Dayton N****z, and Can't Get Out. Bootleg and Shoestring continue to drop hardcore (by today's commercial rap standards) rhymes on many songs. Guests include MC Breed, Cormega, and Capone. I just wish the radio stations would play Dayton Family's music so they could make it big. I no longer see this album in stores, Best Buy had a few copies of it then I stopped seeing them. So if you can manage to find this CD, pick it up!

Dope Dayton Ave.....
I'm riding wit these Dayton Family boys cause they have yet to put out a weak album. This is their 4th album now how many groups can say all their albums are good. This that gangsta music with a meaning. This album is a 1/2 star drop from there last album "Welcome to the Dopehouse". One reason being i think they put to many songs, it has 19 trks no interludes. They have always did between 14-16 trks. The good thing about the album is not to many duos blend so tight like Shoestring and Bootleg so the delivery is strong. The producation is typical Dayton Family str8 Gorilla gangsta out the trunk music. They rep the Mid-west very well. Enimem isn't the only heat out of Michigan. Hotep!!

Sick Cd, From The Michigan Thugs!
this cd is a solid production from the boyz who put michigan on the map with the rap scence. Bootleg and Shoestring have sick flows, along with twisted beats. this is a new stle from the Dayton family, but it works for them. I HIGLHY recomend this cd.GOOD GET IT,in the name of the father, the son and the holly spiritGod BlessPeace!
