While I did receive mine at a discount, my review was honest. My husband is military so keeping track of his weight and calorie intake is very important. This scale does that. I have not had any issues with it. I did notice it took a second to register, but, it goes over that in the manual. I also have the previous version. This one is much better with a higher weigh out and more bells and whistles.

Can you hang this up on a nail?

Hi it's not designed to hang on a nail, however there is the opening to the battery compartment where I think you could hang it on a nail. Go ahead and buy it, see if you can do it, it's a nice looking kitchen scale that is a plus to any kitchen or area. Thanks!

I need to know the calories in the food

The box says "Provides touch-button instant caloric (Kcal) values based on the portion of butter, sugar, flour, eggs, chocolate, chicken or beef placed on the scale." (However, I find the Ozeri frustrating to use and therefore don't use it often. I purchased this scale because it weighs in relatively small increments--grams instead of ounces. I am not interested in knowing calories, but rather small differences in weight; and for my purposes a more simple scale would probably serve me better.)

What is Size of food platform

Slightly larger than 7 inches by 7 inches. You can also set a plate on it and zero it out to weigh what is on the plate. We do that to weigh food portions.
