**Q: what do the three clours represent**
A: Well the colours represent different thickness of measurement for different applications. According to Plastigauge, Blue = 0,1 to 0,25 mm measurements, Green = 0,175-0,5 mm measurements, Orange = 0,025-0,175 mm measurements. Hope this helps.

**Q: How many gauges do you get? The picture shows a box, are there 100 gauges per box?**
A: Theres 10 or so gauges around 4" in length.More than enough to do a full engine but you must keep them in a cool place or they will melt. If well kept they will last for years.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Plastigauge

Product arrived swiftly and was as described. It is an excellent product and worked perfectly on a race engine crank by placing a short length (slightly longer than the journal) on a smear of vaseline on each journal, then clamping clean dry bearing caps to the block. On removal the Plastigauge was well adhered to the journals and clearances easy to measure with the simple supplied calibration strip. Contrary to some comments I see on various blogs, Plastigauge is an accurate way to measure bearing clearances (compared with inside and outside calipers / micrometers) as there is only one measurement per journal. The alternative, with separate measurements of journal diameter and housing bore, provises 4 opportunities for measurement error: 2 zeros and 2 readings of diameter, which add up. I speak as a professional engineer and metrologist. Cheers.
