Underappreciated - Push Your Luck, Deck Builder. This is a must have.
As a boardgamer, this was a great addition to my collection. I have logged 10+ plays of First in Flight. It is a light but exciting game. The blend of mechanics are excellent and I haven't seen a boardgame put those same mechanics together. Strategic deck building, push your luck, worker placement, and action selection all rolled up into one beautifully themed game. The theme is a great slice of history on the creation of the first airplanes. While push your luck isn't always my favorite mechanism, there is enough mitigation with cards that you can purchase that can ease the 'busting' of your flight action. There are really good competitive elements that make this more player interactive as well. The rules over head is super low and makes it easy to learn. I recommend this game for all beginners to advanced boardgamers. This was a great bang for your buck underappreciated game. The history of all the pilots you get in the game at the end of the rule book is a touch of history that brings some fun elements to the era as well.

Excellent Game With a Fun Concept
This game is fantastic. My buddies and I used to play this game fairly often with their dad, who was a board game enthusiast of high caliber. He passed recently, and I will miss our games of this and others. I wish the company would make more games, but their very quiet about their projects. Anywho, the game arrived in great condition and my other friend loved it as a gift.

Wonderful Push Your Luck Game
This is a fantastic game that works well with all player counts. The theme is perfect for a press your luck type of game because that is just what these aviators were doing in the early days of flight. My family and I have played this several times now and I love how the different strategies can lead to victory whether you are conservative or daring or somewhere in the middle. All have won in the First in Flight games we have played. The components are well made with additional card trays that help keep the different types of cards identifiable and accessible. I would highly recommend this game even for ages 10 and up.

Great board game about the early days of aviation!
I ordered First In Flight and really enjoyed the game. Shipping was lightning fast and the game components are high quality. In this game, players are working to build the best flying machine (represented by a deck of cards). When you make a flight, you try to get high distance cards without hitting a Design Flaw card. Too many Design Flaws and you might crash! The game has some Action Selection mechanics for deck building, which is fun. Great game for game nights and families!

An evocative high flying adventure
First in Flight covers the early infancy of modern flight, with gutsy fearless adventurers seeking fame and fortune by flying their aircraft farthest. The game is a 1 to 4 player race to see who can fly the farthest the fastest. Cons: ---------- * It's enough variety between game play for casual and experienced board games, but doesn't have a monstrously large differentiation of play conditions between sessions such that it could possibly get 'samey' after ten or so games. * It's best at 3 to 4 players, though 2 plays just fine. The solo mode is also well done and shows effort in making it feel like one is actually contending against other opponents. Pros: ------------ * Richly artistic. The hand draw art really exudes the time period, with flowery hats and fancy suits adorning the adventuring group. The board and the cards also bring out the feeling of a Roaring 20s vibe with a hint of competitive fire underneath that happiness. * Turns are meaty - You don't go in turns, instead whoever is last in turn order can take turns until they're *not* last. After that, whoever is last goes, and so on. So there's not set order, but you can either take "small turns" and risk losing an opportunity for important actions, or take bigger turns but then have to wait awhile for your opponents to do smaller actions and beef up more strongly. It's a nice game within a game. * Press your luck done with a flair - In games with press your luck, there's usually a point where you make that critical choice to risk, or abstain. Here you get a rather thematic opportunity to instead do a "gradual" risk or reward. When you've played your flight cards to build a long flight, and you see damage cards (if you draw enough damage cards to give the plane four damage, you crash and lose a turn), you don't just say "hit me" or "stay". Instead, you play a descend card... which then requires you to play two more cards. If those cards do NOT make you take damage enough to crash, you get a big end of flight bonus. If not, you *still* get a smaller bonus. Either way, it really feels like, when you test your flight, you are actually flying a risky aircraft. There's a lot of little touches here and there. When you upgrade your plane, you also have to take an additional problem card (you try something new, something wrong could likely happen because of it!). The friends you keep and the gear and skills are great opportunities to nudge you forward ahead of your peers. Overall ----------- This is easy to teach, pleasant to play, always provides some entertaining tension with the risk of flying and the reward (or anguish) of your flights and their volatility. Definitely recommended for board gamers and casual gamers looking for something a bit more involved than the classic board gaming fare.

The product arrived safely in Japan.
I was worried because it would be shipped from overseas, but there was no damage to the product and there were no problems at all.
