Very good vacuum/mop
I always rely on reviews to guide me through a purchase of this kind, so here's my experience. I've got quite a large area of stone floor to keep clean and with two labradors, it needs doing regularly. Prior to this purchase, it needed a vacuum, followed by a manual mop, which takes quite a while and is also is pretty taxing. The Shark does a really good job of performing both tasks, simultaneously. I went for the cordless version and for the money, I'm very happy. I didn't find it noisy and it's both light and manoeuvrable. I guess I should have expected the vacuum aspect to be good, but it really is very effective indeed. The mopping function is also pretty good, especially if you do the floors regularly. One thing to be aware of, is it doesn't lie flat to go right under sofas and furniture. A few quick practical bits; the assembly takes 10 seconds - slot the handle in and place the unit on it's charger. The fresh water/cleaning solution container, runs out 3/4 through cleaning my floors, but takes a few seconds to refill and you're off again. The battery lasts long enough, which is the main thing. Cleaning the unit after use is quick and simple. The reviews are correct regarding the fact the mop doesn't get right to the edge, but it's not a deal breaker and I suspect a very occasional manual mop, will be a good idea. One more thing... I looked at these gadgets for ages. There were some with apps, digital displays, bells and whistles, for £500+. I was put off by stories of reliability issues, problems getting service and parts etc. Having had a very good Shark vacuum, I was confident in the quality, back-up and spares situation, so am happy with my choice.

Game changer!
I didn't realise how filthy my floors were until I used this for the first time. It's so easy! I'd recommend a good hoover around first if you have pets to get rid of the worst of any hair as it will cope with small amounts, but will clog if there's too much. Battery life seems great, I've not managed to run out of charge in one cleaning session yet, although we only have 2 averaged sized rooms with hard floors. It's lightweight and partly self propelled, so even my elderly mother with a dodgy hip can manage a quick mop with this, where a traditional mop would have her in bed the next day! Build quality seems to be of sharks usual top notch standard with a clever design. For the time and effort saved, this is a bargain!

Room for a little bit of improvement
I’ve had the hydrovac for about 2 months now so I can write a fair review. First off, it’s a brilliant idea and saves a lot of time, space and your own energy! The fact that you can take apart the roller and filters to clean them manually is nice as I soak them in diluted zoflora in the sink. Personally, I do this every time I use it to maintain the cleanliness of everything. The self cleaning function ensures that the insides of the hydrovac where you cannot get to, like the pipes, are kept clean and fresh. It does also clean the roller, I just like to have peace of mind that it is properly sanitised. Performance wise, it does the job… mostly! The vacuum suction isn’t as strong as it is on my regular shark hoover, but I guess it wouldn’t work as a mop if it was. However it picks up most debris that is lurking about, that you probably wouldn’t see if you were brushing or vacuuming before regular mopping. The performance of the mop is good. It leaves the floors very clean. I’m always disgusted by the black water at the end! It you do have a stubborn or sticky mark you may need to go over it a couple of times until it is completely gone, but you’d also need to do that with a regular mop. This just takes away the physical energy of doing it. It leaves the floors slightly damp but it’s usually completely dry within 2 minutes. The head is narrow enough to squeeze into the smaller areas in my house, like between my toilet and sink (obviously this depends on your layout) which I was concerned it might not be. I also have a smaller downstairs toilet where I was surprised it managed to fit. You can use it on carpets or rugs to “freshen” them up. I did this a few times to see if it made any difference, but in my opinion, I didn’t notice them being any fresher or fluffed up. The weight is that of a regular upright vacuum cleaner. The charge lasts a good 45 to 60 min. Noise is around the same as a regular vacuum, if anything, maybe a tiny bit louder when it is doing the self clean, which lasts around two or so minutes. The charging stand has designated space for the roller and filter to air dry. And it is very easy to place the machine on charge. It simply just sits on, no fiddling around with it not being on properly or knack to make it stable. To set the self clean mode just press the button. And if you forget how the directions or on top of the machine. It is a very easy to use machine, literally only to buttons, one power button and the refresh mode button. Emptying the dirty water tank is very easy, just a little pull to take out and it very easily clicks back in. I must say I’d give it 10/10 for user friendliness. It comes with a small bottle of cleaning solution. It smells fresh and clean and does leave the floor clean however, the bigger bottles are expensive for what it is. I’m sure there are others that would do the same job for a lot less. Also, something that bugs me is I’m not sure if it’s antibacterial. I know the roller is supposedly got anti bacterial properties but I’d also like to be reassured with an anti bacterial solution. I have considered putting a diluted zoflora mix in instead of the shark solution, but I worry that this might invalidate the guarantee if anything breaks in the future. So why not 5 stars? There is definitely room for improvement… When mopping, it doesn’t quite manage to get right up to the edges. This doesn’t matter too much to me as I clean the base boards and skirting boards afterwards anyway, so a little wipe of the edges it has missed doesn’t bother me much. The charging stand has to be near a plug and therefore needs to be left out. If you don’t have a utility room like me then it’s left out on view. Mine is in a corner of the kitchen. I would prefer it to have the removable battery pack, like on cordless shark vacuums, and then have the little drying spaces for the roller and filter on board the machine. For the price, I think it could come with an extra roller so you can have one for bathroom and one for kitchen. Although these are available to buy separately. However, I do like the fact that I no longer have to store a big mop and bucket and have to put a lot of effort into physical mopping as I have a very bad back, which was my main reason for purchasing. Overall, it’s very handy, it saves me a lot of time and saves my back too. I’d especially recommend it if you struggle with physical activity due to pain etc…

It's totally worthless and does not work as advertised.
This is one of the worst products I've ever bought. It literally does nothing, it can't actually hoover and the wet brush just spreads dirt around, you see it just spread streaks of filth everywhere. It's a nightmare to clean. It has no suction power and you see all the flakes just spat back out onto the floor. Literally you would save so much time just hoovering and mopping, this makes both those things harder, all for 10x the price. It genuinely is the worst product I've ever bought, the people who made this should be utterly ashamed.

Game changer
Game changer for me. Saves so much time, hoovers mops and polishes floors in 1 go. Handles my cat hair no problems as he sheds allot. Easy to operate and clean. Doesn’t leave streak marks, floor is dry in no time and I can do my whole flat ( 100m2) with still plenty of charge left. Love the smell of the cleaning fluid and the place smells super clean after use. Already had a few comments about how clean my floor looks and smells! I clean it after every use ( just my preference) so would recommend purchasing an extra brush roll and filter so you can insert whilst others are drying. Removing the parts to clean is super simple and takes no time at all. Don’t normally write reviews but this deserves it! Brilliant product

Feels like your getting up the dirty rather than spreading it around
Only used this a couple of times. We have a decently sized tiled kitchen/diner and passageway. Up until now we've been cleaning it with a combination of a mop and a Shark Steamer. We've always found that no matter how many times you clean the floor, the map water or steamer mop is always dirty. So, we got this Hydrovac. Here's some positives I've found so far; - Easy to use - Fairly light - Battery lasts long enough to do the floor area we have - It doesn't get the floor too wet, so it dried more quickly - when we've used a mop or steamer, the floor has always been relatively wet afterwards and picks up footprints easily. - the floor looks cleaner for longer, I don't know if this is down to the solution supplied with it, but even after a couple of days, our tiles still 'look' clean. - Because you see the dirty water (like you do when you clean a carpet), you feel like the dirt has been lifted from the floor rather than simply spread around. It's probably in my head, but I 'feel' the floor is cleaner. - Quicker than using a mop - Quicker than using the steamer, and required less effort. - Easy to clean when you're finished - although we've always used it on a vacuumed floor I can't comment on how well it picks up bits from the floor. We have a Robovac that vacuums the floor daily so there's generally very few bits to pick up. The odd bit is has picked up and been caught in the basket and separated from the water. Overall, it's a good product, but it's more of a nice to have rather than a game changer.

I mean it's good but really smelly
Waited a good few months before reviewing this so I could be fair. Firstly, the device itself is good, like really good, will even remove stubborn stains from tiles if you hold the rotating head over the stain. It picks up things like cereal, pet hair and general debris and mops as advertised. It cleans very well and the leaves the place looking really clean. It dries super quick even in the winter months. Battery life is good and the self clean feature is great. So why the negative review? Well it's expensive for a start. There's some really frustrating aspects to it such as the devices inability to clean/hoover close to kitchen surfaces leaving about 2 inches that then require hoovering and or mopping afterwards?! At that point it would be faster to just hoover then mop. The device itself must be cleaned after every single use... I can't stress that enough. If you leave it for just a couple of days it gets mouldy and stinks like wet dog (I don't have a dog) The roller itself sometimes doesn't dry properly and again stinks like wet dog. Making g your house smell really bad and smears the tiles. This takes away from the convenience USP as to why I brought the hydrovac in the first place. I was looking for something to whip around the kitchen after work that would get rid of any debris and clean at the same time daily to just keep on top of things with minimal effort. I now find myself using it, then hoovering around my kitchen surfaces, then mopping around the surfaces and finally then cleaning the hydrovaca dirty tank and filters. It would be faster to just hoover and mop. Which is crazy. The solution provided in fairness did prevent the smell in the initial week of use but at £15 a time and with it lasting around a week in a busy household. £60 a month just isn't feasible so I switched to zoflora on there which works quite well but god forbid you forget to empty that waste tank and you're in trouble! (When you're using for convenience trust me, it's easier said than done) tLDR Pros- good battery life, good self cleaning head, cleans well and great suction. Cons - gets smelly, can be difficult to clean, doesn't reach into corners or crevaces well and isn't a replacement for hoovering and mopping just an expensive additional product.

Fantastic hard floor cleaner!
Purchased this as well as the Shark Stratos IZ420UKT cordless vacuum. We have mostly hard linoleum covered floors, wanted a better way to mop and clean. This cleans the floors so much better than standard mopping. The floor dries very quickly, within a couple of minutes. The battery lasts long enough to be able to clean all of our floors, 3 rooms worth. It is very impressive to see how much filth this picks up judging from the dirty water tank at the end. Love that it constantly uses clean water to clean with dirty water collected in separate tank. Both clean water and dirty water tanks are very easy to remove. Very easy to empty and clean the dirty water tank. Very easy to fill the clean water tank. Was very easy to set up. Very easy to maintain. Came with it’s own charging station and try it sits on when not in use. Slight negative is it does not get right up to edge of floor by walls but about 1cm away. Not a problem for me given it otherwise works so well. I highly recommend as this makes cleaning and mopping so much faster and gets floor so much cleaner.
