Impressed with how far LED pool light bulbs have come...
I'm super excited about this bulb. Starting in 2015, I began hunting for color-changing LED bulbs for my 2007 Pebble Tec pool. At that time, aftermarket screw-in style retrofit bulbs were scarce, and the few that existing were either crazy expensive or really dim... or both. Determined to get color in the pool, I committed to the Pentair Amerbrite LED bulb. At about $275/light, they weren't cheap, but at least they were pretty bright (35w) and I was satisfied. Well, fast-forward 4 years, and I've had to replace one of the bulbs after water got in the housing (my fault), one just stopped working with no leaks, and another one after the red color died (including all combinations that used red). So, all in, I had about $1500 into these LEDs that were "Ok", but certainly not worth the price and had sketchy short life. So, I went hunting for newer bulbs that might be a suitable replacement. I was very interested in the Pureline LED series of bulbs from a popular online pool retailer, but then I stumbled on this bulb which appears to be the exact same bulb. Visually, it's identical at least. and for about $50 cheaper per bulb, I figured I'd give it a try.I currently have one Toveenen bulb insalled in the deep end and the two still functioning Pentair Amerbrite bulbs in the shallow end. I'm pleasantly surprised with the light output of the new bulb... it's definitely more dispersed and equally if not brighter than the Amerbrites, which was one of my concerns. It's hard to tell from digital pictures as they do weird things with LED lights, but the bulb really does a nice job of covering a large area (deep end is 9'). It also color-coordinates well with the Amerbrites, in case you're replacing the bulbs slowly as others die, as I am.The only thing I can't yet gauge is the longevity, as I've only had the bulb installed about a week. I've had it on every night for a couple hours and flipped through all the colors and slideshows... no issues and all working perfectly. Cautiously optimistic that I have found a great light at a decent price that will last a number of seasons... I'll update if I run into any issues, but at least my confidence is bolstered by seeing the manufactures responses to people who have had issues in the reviews. Looking forward to buying a couple more in the coming months to replace the other bulbs!

Very bright LED light
I ordered this light as a replacement for the original light installed 18 years ago. The light came in very quickly and it was very easy to install. So far, I'm pleased with this purchase!!There is only one thing negative which is the same issue reported by other buyers; it is the remote control. When I installed the light, my pool was empty as it was been re-plastered; as suggested by the vendor, I tested all the functions of the light and everything worked perfectly. After the pool was filled and I try the remote control, the remote did not work. Fortunately, I reach out to the vendor and they sent me a replacement remote control after going over some troubleshooting instructions to ensure it was the remote. After I received the replacement remote, I reported the fact that the remote had to be very close to the light in order to work and the battery seem to run out very quickly. The vendor representative, Alicia, offered to refund me $10 so I could replaced the remote battery. I was very pleased to see that the vendor try to ensure I was fully satisficed the the purchase. I would recommend this vendor!! Thank you Alicia!

Great Light - Crappy Remote
The light installed with no major issues and is as bright as the bulb it replaced. The remote worked ok for about 10 minutes. Now the only way I can get the remote to work is to stand directly over the pool light. I replaced the battery per the troubleshooting manual with no change in condition.

Hayward Astro pool light upgrade to LED went really bad !!!
I was really excited when I saw this upgrade option for my Hayward Astro pool light. My 300watt pool light burned out and I purchased this light to upgrade to LED. it worked for 1 night and seemed to light up the pool really well and beautiful colors and more than the the regular light did. I noticed issues right away with the remote like other (customers reported) about having to be really close to the pool light for remote to turn on and off. sometimes remote would get stuck and not work at all.The next night I turned the LED pool light on it would stay on for a second and immediately trip GFCI button on the electric 3 prong outlet on main box. so after some research I replaced GFCI outlet and light switch that were kinda corroded anyway. this still did not fix the issue. I removed light from pool took LED out and put a regular light bulb to see if LED was the issue and I noticed that there was a slit in the black silicone next to light socket with little burn mark indicating that a wire or something shorted out next to light socket in base. I was like ok Im done time to call pool repair. So I called my pool guy and he replaced the HAYWARD ASTRO light and wire that runs up through conduit to the box. he tested prior and found that infact a wire did short out in the base of the socket on the Hayward pool light. so now Im into this for $130.00 for the LED , $600.00 to replace Hayward pool light. plus the $40.00 for GFCI and light switch. My pool guy said I am his 5th customer this month that has bought these types of LED from Amazon and had to replace entire pool light that shorted out. he said please DO NOT put any kind of LED back in the Hayward Astro they are NOT designed for LEDs they are designed to take heat. he believes the LED upgrade caused this issue. The Hayward Astro light has heat coils under silicone and obviously the resistance (NOT wattage) is causing it to interfere with RF remote and heat coils and short out socket. He said thats why HAYWARD sells the Colorlogic LED lamp for $899.00 plus install totally different design. he said stick with the 300w incandescent light said he's seeing more n more issues with the Hayward Colorlogic leds replace and repair. only reason I wrote this review is hoping this will helpsomeone else thinking about upgrading incandescent light UNDERWATER light to LED don't do it!!! talk to your pool guy.
