Not cheap, but certainly not cheaply built. Well worth having if it saves your (far more expensive) boiler or pump.
Easily fitted, very effective and absolutely SOLIDLY built. The magnet is external 9as shown on the box cover) so does not get covered in muck, unlike some. In regular use....Turn off pump, slip off magnet, unscrew bottom cap, turn check valve and drain off into a small jug until clean flowing. How easy is that?.

Still to see if it helps keep my CH system clean
It arrived as discribed by the vendor. BG sugested this should be fitted to our CH system and wanted over 300 pounds to fit this device (every year after a BG service they come up with something that we should fit to our CH system) I bought it for approx 80+ pounds and installed it in 30 min following the instructions. The device feels and looks quality, it comes with everything you need to install it. I drained the CH system, took me 30 min and another 30 min to cut the copper pipe section out and it just slides in to place, tighten the fitings and I was back in front of the TV in under an hour, job done.

Hefty bit of kit, just not the best out there
Not the best, not the worst filter on the market things to consider you can't add inhibitor or cleaner via the capsule (you can physically do this but the instructions say not to) the magnet has a tendency to break (Google it) British Gas are currently pushing them which should tell you all you need to know. A filter is better than no filter at all if you can't get a magnaclean pro 2 or fernox f1 instead

Surprisingly dirty
I bought this for our system when Scottish Gas recommended it to us as one of the items on their service checklist. It would have cost a fortune for them to install and he suggested we ordered one ourselves as he would personally recommend it. We had had a problem with a piece of solder from our new heating put in a few years ago blocking the pressure release on the boiler and pumping water out into the street so it seemed like a good idea. The unit was easy to fit - drain the system, mark two lines a distance apart on the pipe, cut out the section, slide in place and tighten the nuts. You then screw the body together to point downwards. It was no more than a 15 minute job.A few weeks later, I decided to drain some water and see what had collected. This is also a simple job - remove the magnet and open the valve into a bucket. I was amazed how much sludge came out and it took a few litres to run clear and empty the filter. A quick top up with the filling loop to get the system back to pressure and it doesn't need touched for a year.Given the dirt, we also ran a system cleaner when changing some radiators and added extra fresh inhibitor after flushing. With a cleaner, this probably worked as well as some of the powerflush offerings you see repair companies offer. Since refilling, the filter hasn't collected as much which is good news as it means the radiators aren't rusting. The system is also quieter and appears to heat up quicker throughout the house.Would highly recommend these for both old and new heating systems as it will likely save you money in the long term.

Easy to fit
It has not been fitted long, so will update when i flush the filter just before the heating goes back on for the winter. Easy to fit. Clear instructions.

excellent product
Very well made product, feels very robust, easy to fit and (IMHO) well worth paying the relatively small amount extra to have an all metal product, which will last a lot longer than the plastic ones.Only downside is that you can't (it says you shouldn't) use this as an injection point for treatment chemicals. I don't mind as I don't I find tipping them into the feeder tank too tricky, but I guess if your feeder tank is in a hard-to-reach place it could be an issue for you.
