Good quality
This is great for young scientist. It's fun to build and it's a great way to strike up a great conversation about our world and so much more. Both my son and daughter had a blast building and creating their own galaxy. (There is only one, so they had to work together) I would recommend this to anyone.

Great system to learn about our universe
This is a review for Orbiting Solar System STEM Wooden Kit Steam Toys A Solar System Odyssey,Birthday Gift, for Boys & Girls Love Crafts DIY,Ages 8+.This kit is absolutely amazing. It is well thought and made. It is easy to put together and get running in a short time and spend that extra time. You can also learn right along the young ones. The main thing I will knock this for is the dome. The dome is so cheaply made and given its target audience, should have been made of a thicker, more durable plastic, I believe this will fail long before any other part of it.

Easy to Assemble
This was easy enough to paint and assemble. The paint wasn't dried out and the pieces fit together nicely. However, I deducted a star because the plastic dome that should fit over the top was dented in multiple places and actually broke when we were trying to push some of the dents out again. Our 8 year old still enjoyed the process of painting and putting it all together, but was bummed about the dome.

Solar System Odyssey For Your 8+ Year old
This set is perfect for the young child that lives on Earth but loves to look up at the stars and wonder what is out there! Recommended for children 8 years and up this lets them explore from the comfort of their own home and make models of the solar system by themselves or with the help of mom or dad. Getting children interested in science at an early age will really benefit them in the long run and a good curiosity of space will spark a lot of thinking of what is out there and how can they see it and understand it better. The product is made from the safest materials so no need to worry about that. The kit comes with precut boards and is easy to assemble.

Turned our bedroom into a planetarium
We used this to turn our bedroom into a planetarium. It's a good teaching device as well as decorative piece.

Missing and broken parts
We were really excited to build this, my son begged me for 2 days, and when we went to build this everything went terribly wrong. The first step is to install the button but the hole to insert the button into was way too small. I cut the hole bigger to make it fit and the wood still broke trying to get it in. Once I glued it back together and got the button secured I realized that the motor only had one wire attached. The black wire was attached but the red wire was just hanging loose. It broke from inside the motor so no way to fix it. Then looking a little more I realized there were a few missing wires and no way to attach wires to the button. So what looked like a whole lot of fun ended up in the scrap pile.

Cool wooden pop out solar system
Cool wooden pop out solar system. I purchased for my son's 7th birthday and he was excited for a "science experiment". The pieces pop out easily and are fairly easy to put together. The paint is fine and my son had more fun making designs with the paint, than he did putting the planets together. The only reason I gave it one less star is the price. I feel it is a little high for wood cutouts, even with the paint. Still would make a nice gift that most kiddos will enjoy.

Great project to do with a kid into astronomy!
Not only do they get to have fun putting together what is essentially a wooden model, but then they get to decorate it as well. The motor works well too. This is perfect for anyone who is technically minded, or just into STEAM learning toys! We had a blast putting it together and it now serves as a nightlight. Fun and functional!
