Review: Very pleased 3mm 6013 Rods - I purchased these rods out of curiosity having read mixed reviews. Setting Amps at 110 the first rod, on some scrap 6mm plate, stuttered initially but then burst into life and ran a fair bead. It stopped twice but I put that down to pilot error. Second rod I upped the Amps to 115 and immediately the difference was noticed, strong bead good penetration. Good value for money.

**Q: Is this a 6013 electrode?**
A: hi, yes they are 6013 electrodes

**Q: What coating are these Ruttle oe Cellulosic**
A: Dear Customer,

these electrodes are mixed type electrodes, they are Rutile-cellulosic-covered. 
If electrodes are only rutile-covered, they are not suited for vertical down positions. However, if the electrodes are Rutile-cellulosic-covered ones, like our Stark electrodes, you can use them also for welding in the vertical-down position.

**Q: Are these 7018s?**
A: The Stark rods I purchased are E6013 (general purpose rods). I’m welding 6mm flat bar and 6mm round at between 30 and 35 amps.  
These rods are giving very good performance with good penetration.

**Q: Will these be ok to weld 20x20 mm angle iron. Thanks**
A: Depends on thickness of steel not width. Assuming your not going bigger than 4mm and not structural then 6013 will do it but if thicker you would be better with 6010 for better penetration. 

These 6013 rods are good quality. I found them better than super 6. 6013 Is a low penetration rod but plenty good for general maintenance, fabrication and non structural applications. 

I use 6013 on most things and 6010 when I want deep penetration on thicker steel, occasionally 7018 as an alternative low penetration rod but they are not as forgiving. 

If hobby welding 6013 is fine

Not a bad rod/electrode, my mini me is wanting to learn mma so got these cheap as chips rods so my expensive ones arnt wasted! They seem to be quite reasonable, the slag is about average, does what it says on the box
