Great taste! Proper Italian coffee

Been using pods for last 2/3 years in my L'Or machine, tried L'Or, Lavazza & a variety of the Amazon flavours with 99% success & only a handful of dud pods not puncturing. Saw the Borbone's on offer so gave the Red ones a go. Each pods wrapped in it's own foil sachet, OK it's unique & may improve freshness but pretty wasteful I guess. That aside it's immediately obvious by the volume of Crema on the top of the cup this is a world apart from the others I'd tried in the past but the taste confirmed it, full of flavour which continued for some time after finishing the cup. Never been to Italy but it reminded me of traditional Greek & Turkish Coffee's with a feint powdery edge to the Crema with one hell of a kick in strength. Definitely ordering more.

The Coffee is nice tasting when you eventually get a cup full. Took six capsules & over 10 minutes to make to cups full. Very concerned that the back pressure could actually cause damage to the coffee machine, I contacted Amazon for a refund. Shame as nice tasting coffee

As an Italian living and working abroad, good Italian coffee is something I can’t go without. This is not the first time I’ve bought Caffè Borbone, and overall I’ve always been quite satisfied with the product. The red blend has a strong, rich taste, exactly what you would expect from a proper Italian coffee. However, I’ve experienced a few issues. In some packs, the number of capsules is not always accurate: I’ve sometimes counted fewer than expected (around 95, and in some cases even about 80). Also, recently — especially with this order — several capsules do not work properly and no coffee comes out, for no apparent reason. Overall, the coffee itself is good, but these issues affect the overall experience. I hope it’s just a defective batch.

Delicious coffee, amazing rich flavour for the price. Capsules are plastic and design is such that machines won’t pierce the top, instead they have a small valve in the top, through which hot water passes under pressure, so you need good water pressure in your machine, and if you haven’t already, descale the machine to maintain pressure. As the capsule has a valve they need to be sealed in a bag to keep the coffee fresh, which is why they are packaged differently to aluminium capsules. Capsules work fine in my machine, albeit the flow is slow. The price point is the same as the Aldi capsules I buy, but the coffee is so much nicer.

Just wow! I bought this because I ran out of my original Nespresso capsules and, during covid lockdown, it seemed that the Nespresso delivery would'n't happen for another 4 days. As an expresso enthusiast, I couldn't wait that long so I decided to give the red Borbone Respresso a try, next day delivery as expected (Thanks Amazon Prime!) and boy is this coffee good! It's better than my favourite Nespresso flavour (Kazaar) at less than half the price. The coffee is rich, smooth with plenty of foam, which I find most compatible capsules lack. The taste, well the taste took me back to the best coffees I had in Milan or Rome, in short, my best purchase this year! Love it, and I'll probably switch at least 2 thirds of my capsules to this. Two things I have to add: 1. I read in several reviews that capsules were missing, out of curiosity, I actually counted them, all 100 were there; 2. The packaging is indeed not environmentally friendly as each capsule is enclosed in its own non-recyclable pocket, at the same time, this might be why the coffee is so good, when you pop it open you can smell the aroma immediately; as a side bonus, for me, as a frequent traveller having my own portable Nespresso maker, this is actually a benefit, and the body of the capsule is made of hard plastic that doesn't deform in a bag like the originals do.... Funny story, my Nespresso capsules order ended arriving the same day :))

Excellent et pas cher

I genuinely do not understand how this coffee can be rated so highly. Not putting 1 star as the capsules work well (although the machine takes quite a long time to process them), they were delivered in time and good condition. However the coffee tastes terrible. The first one I tasted, I thought I had mistakenly reused a capsule from the day before but it's actually how it tastes. Like a coffee capsule that was used the day before and reused.

Tengo el placer de poder probar este café, porque lo vi en stock de Amazon. Otras veces no lo he visto en stock y tanto para este que es rojo como para el de color verde, hay proveedores que lo envían desde Italia con costes de envío y por este motivo no los había probado. El envío por parte de Amazon, como siempre en mi caso, a una velocidad fugaz, siempre me entregan antes del tiempo que marcan. Y luego el café, una maravilla. Es más suave de sabor que el azul y el dorado. No se nota nada de acidez, en boca. Tiene la dulzura justa y correcta. Y no huele ni sabe a quemado como le pasa a los torrefactos. Además de la crema que hace, que es una delicia. Esta marca ha sido un gran descubrimiento, en mi casa. En el momento que probamos borbone, decidimos que vamos a seguir tomando este café, relación calidad - precio muy buena y además de sabor no desmerecen en absoluto a las cápsulas originales, que valen el doble. Recomiendo probar a todo el mundo. Muchos comentarios negativizan el proceso de compra de cualquier consumidor, diciendo que no funciona bien en las máquinas Nesspreso. Nada más lejos de la realidad. En la foto, se ve claramente que mi cafetera es la básica de Nesspreso y ya he gastado 200 cápsulas que pedí, 100 azules y 100 doradas sin tener ningún tipo de problema. Y ahora he vuelto a pedir, ésta vez 400 cápsulas y no dan problema, ni van a estropear la máquina, el café sale despacito, porque la cápsula lo que tiene por detrás son unos mini agujeritos que es por donde pasa el agua caliente. Pero son poquitos y son minúsculos y por eso sale lento el café y con un chorrito muy fino. Pero la máquina no tiene porque romperse, porque no tiene que perforar la cápsula. De todos modos hay cápsulas de marcas blancas, que la mayoría de consumidores hemos usado y son mucho peores. Desde luego iré probando y descubriendo pero Gattopardo me ha dejado impactada para bien y Borbone es la segunda vez que entra en casa.
