Essie Original Nail Polish, Dark Deep Black Nail Varnish, Licorice

I was initially skeptical as most light colour nail polishes will look so white and washed out on me. After a lot of research on tiktok lol, I picked Lilacism. This came out so beautifully! I definitely recommend it for brown skin and warm under-toned, as it is not too light nor not too bright of a shade. It has the right amount of colour imo, to wear it like a nude shade. This will be so perfect for spring/summer or tbh any season really. The colour was not so thick yet so smooth and not streaky, very fluid and easy to apply. I applied only 1 coat and it was enough. I sealed it off with Essie's gel couture top coat for a gel-like finish.

I thought it would come in a set of 4 nail polishes the cover image was misleading, although now looking it does say a set of 1. I thought it meant that the set was called maki me happy with 4 different nail polishes but I seem to be wrong. It’s a nice colour I do love the red. And you only need to paint over your nails once or twice to get it to nicely cover your nails as it is very pigmented. It is quite glossy and has smooth finish. Overall it say it’s a good nail polish for its price. It does chip but if you’re willing to spend a few more pounds then Essie does have chip resistance line although I personally do not know how well it works as I haven’t bought from it. The nail polish barely chips tho only around the corners if you are actively using your hands for intense work.

I love this nail polish. Its a lovely feminine colour baby milky pink and is easy to apply as it comes with a wide brush. I would say 2 x coats is the best way to wear this colour and with a top coat can easily last a week without chipping. I would say it dries quite quickly and is lovely for any manicure/ pedicure.

I play guitar which is vital on my nails, I’ve only had this on for 24hrs but I played a 2 hour session yesterday and hurrah… it has not chipped!

Not the colour above! Is about half the shade - much lighter than photo. Not what I would call coral. More pastel, not bright. Photo is misleading. Great quality varnish - just the photo is misleadingly dark and rich... and the name implies bright. It's not!

I'm so impressed with the staying power of Essie Gel Couture nail polish! This photo is 11 days after I applied the polish (with no nail prep or additional top coat after the recommended 7 days). I'm hard on my nails and have been clearing boxes, washing up, etc without any chips to the polish.

Lo smalto nero di Essie è in assoluto il mio preferito. Colore intenso, coprente già dalle prime passate, elegante e perfetto in qualsiasi stagione. È un nero pieno e raffinato, adatto sia a look più casual che più curati. Si stende bene e ha una buona durata. La consegna è stata puntuale e nei tempi previsti. Lo ricomprerò senza dubbi
