all the dimensions work apart from the 20mm dim, mine are 22mm - is this critical?

No, that dimension is not critical. These valves are compatible replacements, so whilst some dimension will differ from the originals, they will definitely fit a Franke Eiger.

Is this (sp3561-c, 133.0194.089 - cold) clockwise or anticlockwise to close? depending on prefered lever position, this matters.

The cold lever is on the right as you look at the tap - this closes in a clockwise motion. Our hot is on the left as you look at it and closes in an anti-clockwise motion.
