Just what I needed
I mounted this under my kitchen sink instead of installing a very expensive pump on my water heater. It is so nice to get hot water after only about a cup of water flows out. The temp control is really nice because this heats up very fast and truly gets was to hot when at the highest sitting.

Still on the fence
I got this for my shop to go under my mop sink as a point of use water heater. I got started installing it but I stopped after reading the instructions when I saw that it said it was normal to occasionally leak out the vent. My shop has a wood floor and can't handle an occasional leak. I may still hook it up but with a drip pan, but I'm a little leery. HOWEVER, since reading another review I've changed my plan completely. The other reviewer has it running off an inverter plugged into his truck and he says it's heating water with no issue. So now that's what I plan to do with it. Starting on that project asap!

Inaccurate Max Temperature
Online description shows max temperature is 167FIt didn't get anywhere near that. Then I see instruction pamplet says Max Temp is 149FHad to send back

We plan to put this on our boat
This winter we are going to be restoring our 89' Ocean Yacht. We plan on using this under the sink area in the dining/kitchen area. It looks like it will do well. We have had similar ones like this & have installed them on our projects that we have had in the past. We like them alot. They are efficient.This one should be no different. I will update this review once we do install this new heater.

Convenience for small tasks
Obviously at 2.5 gallons you're not getting a shower out of this. But easy to install in an RV and it's great to have hot water instantaneously for things like washing your hands, hand washing some dishes, and even things like boiling pasta. Temperature control seemed to be responsive though you will likely just want a very hot setting unless you're really trying to conserve power.

Handy 1.5kW 2.5 Gallon Mini-Tank Water Heater, 120VAC. Nice compact, well made water heater; can be useful in many places. Since it only takes 1500 Watts (1.5kW) it will run off a small inverter and battery quite easily. I use it on an undeveloped acre of land that doesn't have grid electricity; runs off an 1800 Watt inverter attached to my 12VDC car battery. Nice to have hot water for cooking, bathing, washing dishes.
