This Ram works with Synology DS1618+! Wow, logistics these days are truly lightning-fast! I placed my order, and within a day the goods were in the US. Two days later, they arrived in Hong Kong and were delivered to my door. It only took four days total from ordering to delivery using standard shipping—that's actually faster than ordering from Taobao to Hong Kong! Amazon's service is incredibly efficient. I struggled for a long time trying to upgrade my DS1618+ from 4GB RAM because I couldn't find the right product on Taobao or locally in Hong Kong. The original manufacturer's RAM costs nearly HKD 5,000 and has a 1-2 month wait time. This OWC RAM solved my problem in just a few days and was 70% cheaper! OWC products are always reliable, and this time was no exception. I installed it in my NAS, it was recognized immediately, and now the whole system runs perfectly smooth. RAM showed up. I opened it. Installed it in a Synology DS925+. It just works. All 32GB were recognized. Get this RAM if you have a Synology NAS.

Anyone who is Leary about using this instead of the overpriced Synology memory, be it known. I've been using this for over 7 months now and have not had any issues. My system is faster now that I have 32GB of RAM instead of the lame 8GB I had from factory. I can also run VM's now, but they run very slow due to the Synology's DS1818+ slow CPU.

I could not justify paying Synology's price for RAM SIMMs. RAM has been generic for decades -- and I'm someone who opened the original MacPlus and installed RAM SIMMs. For anyone curious, the Synology labelled RAM isn't even consistently from the same vendor so how exactly are they 'confirming' the quality? Anyway, I've never had a problem with any RAM sold under the OWC label. Other World Computing has been my go-to source for RAM for my Mac devices going all the way back to the MacPlus in 1988 so I figured if they were able to consistently get products to work with Apple's tech, then Synology should be a breeze. And so far, six months on, my DS923+ hasn't made a single chirp about the RAM not being Synology branded and works perfectly well. Considering I got 32gb for less than the price of a single 4gb Simm with a Synology sticker? I figure it was money well spent.

Still gives you way more than you will ever need. The first boot took a while and it lasted about a week but it's running excellent now give it a little time after you upgrade. Now it reboots within 6 to 8 minutes. I have 5*20tb drives 4 are in volume1 BTRFS and ext4 is volume2 for surveillance. Nothing wrong with this ram I would get it again

The issue only became visible after I checked the NAS kernel’s hardware-error logs. During normal operation, the memory was generating repeated corrected ECC errors across both memory channels and at multiple addresses. Several entries also showed the overflow flag, meaning additional errors occurred but were not individually recorded. ECC was silently correcting these errors, which explains why the pre-boot memory test continued to pass. A basic memory test may not report a fault when ECC corrects the errors before they cause a crash. This NAS runs 24/7 and stores important data. I am not comfortable using RAM that is repeatedly producing hardware errors and relying on ECC to continuously correct them. The memory appears defective and should be replaced or refunded.

+ works with speeds as advertised. + fair value from seller considering it’s a low volume import + good packaging Since I’m using it in my DS923+ Synology NAS, I did not test extended speeds or overclocking (which is how usually quality is inferred.) One interesting observation - these sticks run cooler and does not get as hot.

I upgraded the RAM in my Synology NAS quite a while back with these modules. The NAS has been running full time with a large number of add-ons running as well. I've never had an error or a hiccup from this RAM. I'd buy again in a heartbeat.
