Does not work!!!

I have kids and grandkids and their favorite thing to do is blast my airhorns on my boat when I am not watching. Next thing I know, the cans are empty and the air horn is useless. They are not cheap. I was surprised that they make these hand pump air horns. When I got them, I tried them out. They are VERY loud. Really close to the loudness of can air horns. I am confident that if I had an emergency, these horns would be loud enough to sound an alarm effectively.As a bonus, there is no can, so the kids can play with them and I don't have to worry about the cans being empty. I am also saving money by not having to buy more can air horns each year. These were a great find for me.

Don't waste your money, puny sound

It took a bit of finagling for me to get this to work. At first I thought I had a defective unit. I'd followed the instructions. I'd screwed on the top horn part and had unscrewed, what I thought was meant to be the bottom handle. That didn't work any of the 4 times I'd tried. When I got frustrated and reattached the bottom disk/handle the 5th time, I had somehow unengaged the "lock" that had prevented the ROD attached to the handle from popping out so I could push it up and thus make the horn sound.It took a couple of pumps, but I got the horn to sound. It is really LOUD. I pushed it all the way up again so I could figure out what I did right to get the rod to pop out so I could pump the attached round, bottom screw on (and to be left on) handle. It took me a couple more tries to get the rod/ to pop out. In fact, despite doing it several times, each time takes a bit of finagling. Overall, though, the handle itself twists off, but you have to bump/thump the rod a certain way for it to discharge so it may be pumped via the handle to build up air pressure to sound the horn. I've yet to have the rod/handle to pop down on the first try.I like this because it does work. It is loud. I do see it being something to catch someone's attention. Once the handle is down, it is easy to use. It is just getting the rod to engage, which may take a bit of practice. This is not a make or break unless you're going to use it for an absolute emergency. But this, for me is more for fun, but could be used in a serious situation if you need to draw attention to yourself or your location. It is a good thing to have for multiple reasons.

I got these for my boat and they are VERY LOUD. I would not recommend these close-range near other people. For the boat, they provide the necessary sound alerts required and you do not have to worry about running out of air. Both of mine worked out of the box with no issues.

I’m really upset with Amazon’s return procedure on returning this item. The items (got 2) don’t work. An item that is received in an unworkable condition that cost around $8.00 each is not worth all I’m having to go through to get my money back. The UPS store clerk told me I would have to pay $2.00 for each item to return because I have no printer. If I request UPS to pick the items up it would cost more than the products cost. (around $8.00 per item). The products arrived and didn’t work.

The media could not be loaded. I let my grandson open the package before I got home, big mistake. He could not figure out how to work these ( closed shut for shipping) so he broke the first one trying to figure it out. Then the paper came off the second one. So I have 1 and that’s fine all I need. Nice and loud , easy to use. Video shows me just using my leg, ( needed hand for video) great for sports games, parades . Anything you want to be annoying at ! Great price since it will last forever , out of the reach of a child , that is.
