I purchased two of them to have in different parts of my studio space. Like others said at lower decibels the meters is not accurate but in testing it seems like around 85 dB and higher. It is pretty accurate to my meter. One of the two that I purchased had a failed section of the digital numbers so it’s going back. The long cord is nice.

Great value for function and quality. This noise meter is a huge help to a practicing band with a live drummer - the sound level became a game for the drummer to keep it down, and he's becoming a better and more dynamic player. The other settings are helpful for guitars such as accurate humidity and temperature, so the room can be kept in the right conditions for the instruments to be accessible rather than stored somewhere else in cases. The power cable is not the best, but for the money, this is a good value.

I got this, because I produce live theatre, and wanted to see how loud (or quiet) some of my actors are. Having the ability for them to watch the decibel meter as they speak has helped them to improve their "stage voice projection" immensely. The fact that it has all of the weather features built in also is a nice added bonus. All that said, the internal battery is crap. I get maybe 45-60 minutes of use from full charge until dead. I just leave it plugged in all the time now.

The decibel meter tells my students they're too loud. I do not. The decibel meter has a number that makes other students tell "friends" to hush! 43.8 dB is so far my quiet class record. The decibel meter also requires a few classroom sessions to allow everyone to test their volume. Neighbors and administrators are not a fan of these days... However, I'm building a program with my students. The decibel meter and clock combo has provided me a tool for effective classroom management with student engagement. The faces are dumb though for the temperature!
