This kit is packaged very nicely and I like the concept of the smell jars. The oils themselves are stored in individual glass vials, not plastic vials, which should help the aromas to maintain their integrity over time. You open the plastic smell jar and pour a few drops of each essential oil from the glass vial on to the paper lining its own dedicated smell jar. This method of doing things should ensure the kit lasts a long time and that the smells have their full strength for each use. I smelled the scents myself and they are very potent to a person with a normal sense of smell. I purchased this for someone who had a GI issue and had lost their sense of smell and taste, but unfortunately they were not able to use it long enough to see if it worked for them.

I lost my smell and taste about 1 1/2 years ago. Nothing to do with Covid, just another perk from getting old. But it’s hard to explain the impact it has had mentally on me. After seeing a doctor she recommended I try teaching my brain to smell again by using 4 different fragrances. I was shocked to see that Amazon offered several products for this problem. I did a lot of research and picked The Smell Project. In my opinion it is the best! It comes in a really neat package ready for you to use. Four small jars, four small vials of essential oils (rose, lemon, eucalyptus and clove) and a smell log are all lovingly packaged in a heavy duty box. There are excellent directions on how to dispense the vials of oil to the little jars as well as how to do the smelling and daily logging. I highly recommend this well thought out product to anyone who has lost their sense of smell. I hope it works for me.

I’ve used The Smell Project for 2 days so far and I can smell the fragrances somewhat.. I’m sure it will take time and I should be able to smell them better as time goes on.

I’ll start by saying I’m glad this product is available, but I was slightly disappointed in the quality. It isn’t mentioned anywhere that the provided ‘jars’ are plastic. Had I known this, I probably would’ve opted to build my own kit with amber glass jars. The quality of the oils is also questionable given that the only provided information is that they’re from a Chinese manufacturer- so not much in the realm of essential oil brand credibility there. The package itself arrived a little dirty and torn. The jars themselves appeared dirty (on the exterior) and parts of the package were torn, despite being shipped in a protective bubble mailer. The packaging itself is nicely laid out with and is well designed, but overall I’m left feeling like this is an overpriced, lower quality product that appears to be created by someone who normally sells pet toys- but the kicker is that there is no competition. This is the only smell therapy/training kit I could find. Period. My suggestion to the seller: provide amber glass jars (or at minimum specify they are plastic) and provide more details on the origins/testing of your oils (or provide an existing trusted oil). With those two items resolved- I feel the price would be justified. Otherwise, I’d suggest you make your own kits.
