Belts seem thick and sturdy...until you install them and try them out. Claims to be compatible with Bissell Upright Model 1797 but these belts are NOT compatible with that model of vacuum so beware. I could immediately see this belt was thicker and shorter than the original belt that was in my vacuum, but I stretched it out a bit and installed it (barely) onto my roller head. Immediately the roller brush head would not turn at all and the vacuum started to immediately overheat, so I shut if off ASAP. Removed the roller brush head to remove the belt and it had already melted and snapped in two, see pic. Returning it and the other unused belt immediately and will be buying new belts directly from Bissell, which I should have done right from the start!

The original belt melted, got stuck, and then snapped. I didn't realize for a bit and couldn't figure out why the carpets were not getting clean. Replaced this little guy, took 5 mins, and the cleaner is back to working perfectly. And now I have a backup for when this inevitably happens again.
