I bought this for my 6 year old daughter. She's had tinsel tied in before but it was just single strands and they didn't last long. This kit came with the tinsel, hook, and extension beads. We used 2 beads with about 10 stands folded in half and tied on to the bead. They are easily squeezed down/opened up with some needle nosed pliers. I let her wear them for 3 weeks before I wanted to see how her hair was holding up. They lasted through many washings and brushings with almost 0 movement down the hair shafts. No damage to her hair or scalp! Just be sure to use a small amount of hair, no wider than the bead to prevent scalp tension and hair loss. Also leave a layer of hair on top to cover the bead, and trim the ends to match hair length!I will say the only thing I didn't like was the instructions. They are only illustrations, not really even instructions. Watch a couple of YouTube videos and you'll be fine.Only thing I'm not sure about is heat. We do not use heat tools on our hair, so I don't know if this tinsel can be styled without burning or melting. Since that's not a concern for us, I would definitely recommend. The colors were a nice pop on her sandy blonde. Easy to put in, easy to take out. No damage and nothing is permanent!

They are easy to put in and beautiful colors but they are not heat resistant I learned the hard way

I know it said there were a lot of colors, but these are even better in person. Take a bit to get the hang of them, but my daughter loved them once I got them in.

These are cute, but hard to put in. If you know how to put them in, then you may not have any issues. The colors are pretty.
