A simple soil tester providing information on three aspects of the soil condition. No batteries needed and works straight from the box although takes a short while to acclimatise. Tests light, moisture and pH, Instructions and information a little brief. I got it to test the pH soil quality and suggest getting pH numbering data from the internet. Provides clear readings.

It quite interesting reading the reviews on this product and I do wonder if the people purchasing it actually paid any attention to the instructions. I mean the amount of people who said (“I put it in a glass of water and the needle did not move… My one is broken!!”) Makes me worry about the stupidity of some people… Sorry Rant over… I promise. So anyway with the reviews in mind I purchased this on a 50/50 chance but for the price I was happy to take the gamble, I had nothing to worry about, I put it into my first pot waited the 10 Min advised in the instructions and low and behold the result was shown.. (Plant needed watering) . . I cleaned off the prongs and tried another and although it seems to immediately show the status I did leave it for the 10 Min and it showed the plant to be happy, I have been using it primarily to check amount of water in my larger planters so I can keep them watered correctly. I have checked the PH on a few plants but in my case it’s not relevant, but I guess it’s working, I will say I am not confident on the light sensor though.. Yep it moves but I feel it may be under reading the light level.. I felt the areas I tested were much brighter than the needed reached but in truth this component is not needed for me as I feel I am able to discern a dark corner to a bright one.So a great little unit, I think perfect for the amateur gardener or those who have too many planters and are struggling to keep the watered to the right level

Bought in May, broke less than 6m later.I have no idea on the accuracy of the pH meter, I mainly used it for moisture, occasionally for light.Comparing the light meter to the app I have on my phone, it's fairly accurate. It under-measures a little, but was generally pretty close, and reliable.The moisture meter worked well, giving what appeared to be accurate readings with reliability. However, in October, just under 6 months after purchase, it just stopped working. Moisture readings at 0, no matter what the saturation.I've not been rough with it, I've no idea why it stopped working, but it has, so I'm left wondering whether to rebuy every 6 months or try a different brand.

Ph guage doesnt work!!! I tested it in several soils to verify results. Had to return this item.
