I purchased these shoes to work in a commercial kitchen at the time, they are incredible. They are STYLISH and one of the most durable shoes ive owned and used. being steel toe they protect your feet very well and I am thankful for that. I work on the hot line most of the time around hot oil fryers and giant ovens. These shoes do not generally bother me, once broken in, the fit and feel is incredibly good. BUT they are very heavy, so if you are able to tolerate them, these shoes are the best in the industry.

I love these shoes!! They're comfortable, stylish, and affordable. They do, however, run big. I wear a size 8 1/2 and ordered an 8 knowing they run large. But they were still too big. I returned them for a size 7 which was perfect. But I haven't worn a 7 since I was a teenager. So make sure you size down a size!

True Docs. Outstanding shoe, my feet don't hurt after a long shift walking on concrete!! Win win!

Fit and finish is similar to the classic MIE (made in England) Doc's that some of us remember and possibly still own. I'm not sure if these will last 20 years, but they are well made. These 1461 style Docs require a break in period and we do not recommend you try to wear them 8-10 hours out of the box. Keep those old work shoes around for a few more days! The fit and the toe box is a bit more snug than the classic, what used to be a little roomy isn't anymore but fits well after break in. If you are familiar with 1461's the arch is right where you expect it and the updated inserts are very good, a true improvement. You won't need those power steps for awhile, if ever. The bottom of the sole is also updated and provides well above average grip on both water and oil. Unfortunately the tiny channels on the bottom of the sole get packed with dirt and grime easily and are quite a bit of work to clean. So not an improvement. These are, as expected, heavy shoes and have good balance even with the safety toe. The uppers follow the classic lines and whatever exactly they are made out of, it's very durable. These work shoes are a good value and should last a year or 2 at least.

I got these for my server/ bartender job. These are sooo comfy out of the box. And they are 8 hour shift (constant walking and standing) approved. I didn’t have to break them in like my other docs. I wear a size 7 in other shoes and got a size 6 in these. These are not waterproof but you CAN make them waterproof. My only complaint is that these aren’t non slip and I really need them to be lol

These shoes run large in size. If you wear a men's size 10.5, a size 10 is what you should order, not a size 11. They are stiff initially, but after they are worn a couple of days they tend to get broken in.

I've never owned Dr Martin shoes. I took a bartending job knowing I was going to be in my feet and wanted something stylish and comfortable. BOY WAS I WRONG! While I bought the right size they are the most uncomfortable shoes I've ever owned!! The back of my heal was literally bleeding at the end of the day and both feet so sore I could hardly walk. I figured maybe I need to break them in... well doing another not so active job, sitting and driving mostly they weren't any better. They are extremely heavy and unbearable! Fortunately I had some other shoes to finish shift in. I can't return them because I wore them and will try to sell them used. I already feel bad for the next guy thinking he will be able to wear them. Never buy these shoes even if you aren't on your feet much. Horrible Horrible experience. While the construction of the shoes seems good, they will destroy your feet!

I must’ve missed it but it’s a steel toe, husband didn’t like them or the fit. He said it ran smaller than usual. Bummed Easy return though
