Excellent, easy and quick to replace

Just check to order the correct lengths, lafuma offer a couple of options....Perfect fit and all of 5 mins to replace the broken elasticated section.

Bought to replace fraying and broken set of Lafuma elastic laces originally on Lafuma deck chair. I undid the old laces on one side of the chair, then with the new ones mirrored the way the laces were weaved in the other part of the chair, as originally done. You'll get to a point where there's not enough elastic left, and you'll have to work it from the beginning, pulling it slightly so you get less slack and eventually you'll end up with more elastic at the end to finish the job with. Takes about 1 hour to replace all the old ones from start to finish. I'd recommend a spot of Radio 4, or Radio 3 / Classic FM if you enjoy classical music, like me. A cup of tea in between doing each side may also provide some motivation. It's worth it at the end, just think of that ultra-relaxing lie down on a rare sunny afternoon, the birds chirping, the still silent air, the warm breeze... etc. :-)

Our La Fuma RSX chairs are quite old, the seating laces were wearing to green thread, elastic had broken. This set of four laces are for one chair, the 2 longer laces were the ones I needed for the seat and footrest. The smaller laces are for the back but ours are not worn. The original lace was doubled laced over the seating area and on the join to the footrest - unfortunately this lace is not long enough to do that, it's single laced all the way and is meant to double back on itself at the bottom of the footrest. However the ends of the laces have heavier plastic ends than the original so will not allow it to go back through the last metal eyelet that has elastic through it, now hangs loose! I wasn't happy with the results especially as the original elastic laces had lasted many years, if not doubled it would wear much quicker. I checked out the smaller laces, the plastic ends are like my original laces with the word 'La Fuma' written on the side and were smaller and thiner than the long lace ends. The La Fuma ends thread through the seating area and joining leg/footrest giving double elastics where the heaviest weight is. If all the plastic ends been 'La Fuma' you could double the seating area with the long elastic using the shorter elastic for the leg/foot area.

If you have a LaFuma reclining chair, these laces work great if your original laces break. I have one LaFuma chair with laces, and another with clips. The clips are the more recent model, but I purchased the 2nd one with laces, thinking that it might be more easily repaired than if the one using clips broke. I use the chair for clients, and they love the comfort of it. Some reviews had said the laces had to be pulled very tightly to restring, but I found by pulling tightly, I ended up with a lot of slack, so it really was simple to put on. The chairs are expensive, so I highly recommend having spare laces on hand, just in case, or to get them if a lace breaks. Keep the chair!
