This plate fits perfectly, color-wise, with our Nest thermostat. Easy to install, nice finish!

Contrary to what the images show, the plate does not match the Fog coloured Nest at all. The plate is a notably darker blue, and it looks ridiculous to me. Unless you are always looking at the thermostat straight-on, the colour difference is glaringly obvious. It's unfortunate because the plate itself is nice and sturdy, unlike many of the other plastic ones available - although I'm not sure if the metal plate will affect how the Nest senses the ambient temperature. I've seen recommendations to not install the Nest thermostat near metal. The circular shape is also much more aesthetically pleasing than the oval ones. It works perfectly to cover an electrical gang box, if you, like me, are one if those who had their previous thermostat mounted to an electrical box. However, it doesn't come with the metal mounting plate required for installation over the box. I might have granted an extra star, if it had. No one that I could find, aside from Google, sells that mounting plate separately, so I ended up having to buy a different plastic wall cover just to get the mounting plate. It was an annoying extra expense, but still cheaper than going through Google. Because my box is oriented horizontally, I couldn't use the light switch mount hack that I saw someone else had suggested. The biggest issue really though is the colour. The plate is marketed as "Fog", and the image shows it matching quite closely, but the only thing similar about it is that it is blue from the same colour family. I either have to return it, or throw away $17, because I just really dislike how it looks on the wall. The plate might be fine, if you have a white or charcoal Nest, but if you want to match one of the other colours, look elsewhere.

Much preferred the solid plate compared to others. There were other reviews about color mismatches and while not the EXACT fog, I prefer this as it complements the nest for perfectly, and a close enough match to give it depth
