Excellent Safety Razor
This Muhle safety razor is my first delve into shaving with a safety razor. I was tired of spending so much money for replacement 5 blade razor heads. After a little research I came across safety razors. The devices seemed simple and less scary than a straight razor. As an add bonus the blades are insanely cheap. You can get 100 blades for under $10. A double edge blade for the safety razor has been lasting about a week. Which means the blades should last me about 2 years. The economics on the safety razor are obvious. The shave I’m getting with the Muhle razor is at least as good as the 5 blade razor I was using. It is easier to cut yourself with a safety razor. I found I only cut myself when I’m in a rush when shaving. The head on the Muhle does pivot like newer razor designs. This means you have to go slow and be aware of the angle of razor as you shave.Overall the Muhle is an excellent safety razor handle. The razor weight feels good in your hand. The quality appears to be high and the design is elegant.

My Morning Companion
I've been away a long time from single-blade shaving, but decided to ditch the cartridges and get a real razor. I selected this magnificent bastard as my first and I could not be happier. The R105 was nothing less than a revelation coming from a cartridge razor. I can't imagine every going back. The quality of this instrument is first class. Muhle makes some very fine pieces, and I picked up a few to compliment the handle. Would highly recommend this paired with a very nice brush, blades and and quality shaving soap. You can't go wrong. I didn't nick once and got the closest shave in years. Pamper yourself now!

A Piece of Art
This razor is nothing short of a piece of art. It is simply beautiful. It is absolutely flawless. The chrome is shiny and perfect and the resin black handle is smooth and feels good in your hand. Even wet, this handle has a decent grip and doesn't slip at all. It shaves really well. I also own a Merkur 34 C, a Weishi, and several vintage Gillettes. This razor is slightly more aggressive than the others I own but not a bad shaving razor by any means. It's one of my favorites in my collection.

High quality chrome plated brass material, with considerable razor ...
High quality chrome plated brass material, with considerable razor head mass, weighing, 2 1/4 oz. = 64g. A lesser quality razor weighs in at 2 1/8 oz. = 62g. , both with blades. The Muhle has most of the weight in the head area, making the balance a bit off versus the lesser quality that has a more balanced feel to me. This Muhle model also has a smooth black handle that is slippery when wet, slipperier yet with soap, I have dropped it several times. I prefer a knurled handle.

Gillet?!!?
Unbelievable how people are still wasting money with two baldes, three blades, fifty blades and super expensive. This rasor is amazing. Very easy to use, easy to clean, and super cheap! And..do the beard takes 50% less time than common plastic rasor.

Muehle R106 first use
After 30 or so years of using everything from the Gillette Atra to Sensor Excel and a few trial Mach 3's I have gone retrograde for a huge improvement in shaving with a DE Safety Razor. This Muehle arrived today and after watching several videos (check out geofatboy on youtube) giving advice on how to properly use a safety razor I lathered up some Proraso with my Badger brush and boy, what a thrill. The razor has a slick black handle but doesn't flop around--I had no problem keeping it firmly in hand as I did three passes. It came with a derby blade (which I ordered a large pack of in advance) that gave me the closest shave that I have had in my memory. The blade installs in-between the two piece head and the handle securely attaches to the head with a very nicely machined screw. There is no looseness or wobbly feeling as it is screwed together and feels very firmly assembled.I have a little bit of razor burn on my neck which I attribute to my applying too much pressure going against the grain on my 3rd pass. No nicks at all, I was worried about getting in and around the nostrils because I have sliced my self with a cartridge razor getting too careless there. No problems with the Muehle. This is a closed comb razor and very comfortable, I think this is the beginning of a beautiful relationship.

Very good razor with good design/build quality.
Very good design construction as well as the look and feel of the razor. Easy to use. I wish the handle were a little longer (only because of my hand size). Other than that, I like the razor, it works well, and would definitely recommend.
