Supplied With Three Keys The Staywell Magnetic 4 Way Locking Classic 932 Cat Flap

I bought this product because my neutered male has recently made friends with a young female and I came home to find them sleeping on my bed. We also have the neighbourhood bully who keeps stealing his food. I put the collar on him 24 hours before fitting the catflap just to make sure it wasn't a problem. I had the original 4 way locking Staywell cat flap so was pleased it was easy to swap over with no new cutting etc. It does keep other cats out but mine nearly had a heart attack the first time he used it and the mechanism clunked. With coaxing, we got him out and in but he's learned ramming speed works best and, this morning, he ripped the housing off the skrews, letting his girlfriend in behind him. So I need to buy thicker skrews and make sure it's on tight. I'm hoping it's just teething problems. I've deducted a star because they've changed the little dial you use to lock the catflap and it's stupidly fiddly and needs man strength fingers. Be aware this product comes with four magnets for a collar but no actual collar so you'll need one if your cat doesn't usually have one.

EXPERIENCE HAS ALREADY SHOWN THAT THE MAGNET CAN ADHERE TO THE COLLARS BUCKLE AND OR BELL AND OFTEN RESULTS IN THE MAGNET NOT HANGING DOWN BUT CAUGHT UP IN THE SIDE FUR OF THE CATS NECK!! THIS RESULTS IN THE CAT STRUGGLING TO GET THROUGH THE DOOR.A SUITABLE COLLAR BY THE MANUFACTURER WOULD BE A GREAT ADDITION TO THE KIT!!ALL SAID THE DOOR HAS PROVEN BENEFICIAL TO ALL CONCERNED.

I bought this to replace an old one that no longer worked magnetically. I was dosappointed that the screw holes were at a different level to the old cat flap screw holes. I am a woman on my own and I found it difficule to drill new holes in the door. Having eventuallt succeding I then found that although I could connect the screws to the inside part of the new flap I could not get the outer plastic lined up as there was some sort of distortion. I eventually managedby attaching through the door but securing outer plastic with gaffer tape. By no means easy to fit or perfect but it will have to do.

Bought for daughter's cat and she seems pleased with it, saves her from leaving a window open for her cat who does not really like it but is using it, like most cats he prefers to use the door when he can as it is easier for him than the cat flap. Sturdy construction and a really strong magnet, great purchase at a reasonable price, with the bonus of extra magnets if cat looses one.

Decent design. Cat took to it easily.I can concur with other when they say anything metal will also release the door.My cat has a small container with my mobile number on etc and it did release the door when I tried it (before fitting)Not sure if that set up is powerful enough to work when the cat is trying to get through but who cares

Received the catflap quickly (was a replacement for same model but very old but had been great). Installed it easily. That's where it all went wrong, found the door to be very stiff and found it didn't close properly, but after a few goes it seemed to be a bit better. Next morning - 2 cats sat outside couldn't get in as it had opened but not fully closed again so cats couldn't get in. The door wouldn't actually swing back to neutral. Took it all off, put it back on, cats just about managed to get back in - next morning same again, cats looking sat outside looking very upset! Requested to return it for a refund as didn't function, seller accepted the return, only to receive a very curt reply a few days later saying plastic was pushed up and needed pulling back down(?), nothing wrong with it, we're returning it to you! Replied stating wanted a refund as faulty, heard nothing for over a week, no reply, no refund, no catflap posted back! Had to get Amazon involved and got a refund today. First time ever I've had a response from a seller like that, rude and uncaring and then no communication or refund. Won't ever use them again, disgusting customer service.

I love it!! although it took a few days for my kitty cat to get use to it. Already had a regular cat flap but upgraded to magnetic version after a stray cat kept calling round at night and "spraying" in my kitchen :-( She kept trying to push door with her paw.......no brains....but the magnet needs to enter the tunnel in order for it to release the cat flap. anyway, 6 days later and she finally gets to grips with it and alls well :-)
