I also just wanted to cook with healthier options. Right out of the bag, the texture of the chickpeas is hard and tough - not my kind of snack food. So I soaked it for a couple hours to prep, sauted, and mixed it with a basic tomato-based sauce along with veggies for a curry. The chickpeas are very small, not your typical can of garbanzo so it helps to soften 'em up but the quality is fresh afterwards and tastes nutty and not stale.
